My wife keeps on pestering me about birthday gifts because I'm very difficult to shop for, but she wants to get me a Bucks jersey, which I decline for 2 reasons:
1) adults shouldn't wear jerseys
2) it would be very depressing to get a Giannis jersey a year before he shredded my heart (and I honestly don't know who else will be here long enough to justify owning a shirt with their name on it)

Giannis re-upping for the foreseeable future could help my own mental state, my wife, and the little Chinese kid who stitches the jersey together all in his decision (among many, many others).

I still think he does a 3-year "2+1" type of max. Gets huge money, stays loyal, but keeps the timeline shorter for the front-office to make some moves.

Maybe he's trolling those on the outside because Giannis & Lasry already wrapped it up. All the media heads talking about Giannis needing to go somewhere, Giannis disagrees & enjoys toying with them.

But maybe it is the last dance & he doesn't want to live in Milwaukee anymore.

Hopefully this means good things for us.

Giannis saying he can surpass Redd's 57pt single game record suggests he'll at least play here one more season. Retweet with thescore referencing that night.

Sounds like a pretty lame reason. I’ll happily wear my Rodgers, Giannis or, by the time I’m on my death bed, Liam Antetokounmpo jersey with pride.

Hilarious article from The Athletic (https://theathletic.com/2035342/2020/11/12/arms-and-legs-and-hands-and-desire-giannis-antetokounmpos-early-nba-days/) about Giannis's early years, but Carlisle is sneaky bastard:

"Oppenheimer: We go to Tim Grgurich’s camp in Las Vegas. … We would go to the far basket every morning, and every morning Rick Carlisle would come and watch. It was just me and Giannis and we’d work on some stuff. Rick asked me, “Can I help? Can I talk to Giannis?” I was like, “Of course! You’re Rick Carlisle! Do what you want to do.” So Rick would work with him a little bit. Second day, same thing happened. Third day, same thing happened. Fourth day, we’re walking into the gym and Giannis goes, “Coach, let’s go to a different basket.” I said, “Why?” And he said, “That man is there again. I just want to work with you, coach, and every day, that man, he stops and talks to me. I like him, but I don’t want some man working with me.” I go, “Some man, Giannis?? That’s Rick Carlisle!” And he goes, “But who is Rick Carlisle?”?

I'm sorry but I have to post more quotes from this Athletic article, I'm laughing out loud reading this thing:

Oppenheimer: After he played in the rookie-sophomore game (during All-Star Weekend), he comes back. We’re just happy he played in the game. We’re just happy he got picked. He’s furious. I’m like, “What is the matter?” He’s like, “I have something for Nate McMillan.” I’m like, “What are you talking about? What did he do?” And he said, “He played me the least. He doesn’t think I’m good.”

Coming back to this Ty - not trying to be a hater by any means. Just, Giannis might be the best athlete we ever see perform for our home team(s) in our lifetimes. Get the jersey man, if not to wear, get it signed and hang it at some point.

Hah! I didn't take offense, different strokes for different folks (I also don't live in Wisconsin anymore, so it'd be really tacky for me to wear Gianni jerseys in Thunderland)! But you're totally right about the importance of a Giannis jersey - I have the old red and green, from when his stardom was just a twinkle in our collective eyes, so I think that also prevents me from wanting another at this point. But if he were gonna be around for the next 6 years, it would make it a lot easier of a decision - it also doesn't help that my jersey collection includes Brewers Sabathia and Greinke (I should've known what I was doing to myself) as well as a Baddy Chuck jersey, so I'm batting roughly 1.000 in the curse department.

I overheard someone talking the other day. No idea if this is a true story. Prior to buying his new house, Giannis went to look at a top floor condo in a high rise downtown. Apparently he walked out very quickly after he asked how much the HOA fees were. If thats true, it certainly fits the profile of someone who grew up having to be thrifty and is still in that mindset. Food for thought...

Side note - the lamest part about an HOA is having to PAY them when you sell your home to get out of the HOA. It's bananas.

What is HOA in the States? Like body corporate type fees for building maintenance etc? Or bonds?
