A deal for Wiggins at this point would only be palatable if it brings in the #2 pick while not sacrificing any high-value present-day draft capital. You're effectively looking to purchase the #2 overall pick in a top-weak draft for $95M in the right scenario. I'm not even sure it's worth it at that point - whomever you select would HAVE to hit BIG to make it even come close to making sense.
That's tying up half their cap flexibility (roughly) for 3 years, so agreed, in that scenario, no other stuff going out, they'd have to think the player is big time.
Feel like the Warriors will be able to foist Wiggins on some fringe playoff team that is capped out anyway, but has that player expiring on bigger contract, or works out 3 way deal.
Should be interesting. The one year the Knicks have ample cap space to make things happen, so do at least 5 other teams.
