Herro, Nunn, DJJ, (Sign n trade), KZ, Olynik, 20th pick, and future 1st rounder would probably be my best offer.

Unless Mia could do that same deal and get Giannis. Then I'd be willing to move Bam for Harden and form a Giannis, Jimmy, Harden trio.

Harden/Jimmy/Duncan would be one of the best trio's in the league too

Would be like the 10th top 5 player that Riley got to work with in his career. Such a goat

Just read the athletic article that came out. Obviously sourced by somebody in Westbrook’s camp. Harden comes off really badly. Westbrook is at least saying the right things about accountability.

Harden is still a top 5 player, but coaching him and getting him to buy in to our culture will be challenging.

Harden just turned 31 YO. played a lot of games, but his game should age gracefully.

As much as dislike his style, persona, and his fit here - you can't deny he's a top 5-8 talent in this league.

IF he's tight withJimmy, and if we make sure he buys in to the culture and understands his role will change here, AND if we keep Jimmy + Bam + either Duncan or Herro - i guess we have to pull the trigger.

Basically if the price is low enough we have to gamble on the fit and hope the collective talent comes together. I doubt we can get him and keep 3 of our key guys.

If true, I'd guess Jrue.

My guess would be 20th pick, Nunn, and Duncan with Iggy as filler.

Trading for Harden and keeping Robinson? That’s not happening. We would have to include Nunn, Herro, Robinson, #20 pick and some future first round picks for starters.

Looks like Lakers somehow roped in Ibaka. It looks like Chad is pushing the Harden to Miami narrative, he also pushed the Beal coming to Miami last season which amounted to nothing as well.

I still don't know how I feel about a Harden to Miami trade I feel like there is no possible way we get that trade done without losing at least two of Herro, Bam or Robinson. Riley would likely let go of Herro and Robinson first.

Jrue has a player option in 2021 so he'll likely opt out.

His player option is 27 million, the only reason he opts out of that is if he's going to get that money back and more with a longer term contract at age 31.

Personally, I don't think it's Jrue because other teams could easily outbid Miami for his services(shouldn't be moving Herro for Jrue) but may need to add a 3rd or more teams to make the best sense for NO.

For instance...

Why no talk about DeRozen? He can force San Antonio's hand by opting out or allowing them to trade him to where he wants to go to while the team trading for him retains his Bird rights. It's absolutely possible for Miami to net Aldridge(trade) and DeRozen(trade or FA) this offseason.

Since Miami is in a unique situation with their cap this offseason and next, swing for the fences and show Giannis Miami are willing to make the moves...

A trade to Miami may look something like...
Iggy, Olynyk, Nunn, and a FRP(draft for SA this year) to San Antonio for Aldridge AND DeRozen(or opts out and signs a 1 year contract with Miami).
https://tradenba.com/trades/IyYWYEyd2

San Antonio gets much younger with Nunn and FRP plus gets a stretch 5 for backup behind Poeltl. Or San Antonio keeps both and possibly trades them at the deadline for much less and possible bad contracts past 1 year coming back.

Or something like this could happen.
DeRozen opts out in San Antonio, agrees to long term contract with Miami but less per year to keep cap space available for 1 max contract player next offseason.

Miami resign Dragic, Crowder, and then trade for Aldridge for Iggy, Olynyk, Nunn and/or pick, then Miami resigns Dragic and/or Crowder at team friendly contracts. Dragic and/or Crowder may have to have their cap holds released and accept exception type money which they might.

Based on? What's the precedent for 31-year old non-stars opting out of $27M contracts?

I guess there's the assumption is that he'll negotiate a new long term, more team friendly contract to opt out if he's on a team he wants to extend with. I should have posted this previously instead of just opt out for a long term contract.

So do you not believe Jrue Holiday will be able to get a 3yr $27mil+ contract from any team in the league at age 31?

Chris Paul signed a 4yr $157mil contract at age 33.

Kyle Lowry signed a 3yr $100mil contract at age 30/31. Then signed another 1yr extension for 30mil at age 33/34

We gave Jimmy a 4yr max of $138mil after he opted out of his player option in Philly at age 30.

Jrue would be silly not to opt out even if he cant get more than 27mil starting salary to not get the security of more years at that age wouldn't be a smart move. If he injures himself in his final year he could cost himself $50-60mil.
