Anyone have an idea why Hayes stock is falling?

The draft journos are higher on him than the actual scouts are. Wasserman has been talking about this for weeks too. What’s weird is no one really pinpoints what the nba guys don’t like about him either. The disconnect is all very strange.

Most Media analysts love him. But NBA scouts don't. It's intriguing.

Maybe most NBA scouts didn't watch his games in person. It's tough to recommend a guy in these circumstances.

Did Hayes do a workout with anyone?

Hayes worked for the Magic at #15.

Supposedly the Hawks have shown interest in Hayes and think he is good. But view him more as a lead guard that will have the ball in his hands so may go in another direction...supposedly from what I read

With regards to Wiggins, I can't see any NBA team already picking in the top-10 taking him on merely to move up. That's a $95M commitment to an inefficient, ball-dominant player the Warriors actively do not want. You're not paying almost a hundred million to pick swap.

A deal for Wiggins at this point would only be palatable if it brings in the #2 pick while not sacrificing any high-value present-day draft capital. You're effectively looking to purchase the #2 overall pick in a top-weak draft for $95M in the right scenario. I'm not even sure it's worth it at that point - whomever you select would HAVE to hit BIG to make it even come close to making sense.

I swear I'd be tempted to do it if it was just a swap of picks... I think Edwards can be DMitchell like and pairing him with RJ and Mitch sets us up really well going forward.

the one team i could see taking that deal is SA. i think they've locked in on wiseman as the guy they want to carry the torch and be tim duncan's understudy and will move heaven and earth to get him. yeah the wiggins contract is a bitter pill to swallow but as long as wiseman is on his rookie deal it won't set them back long-term. their developmental staff is probably dying to mold this kid - would also be a classic "zig while everyone else is zagging" SA move.

You want to spend about $90+ million to move up from 8 to 2? That’s essentially what you are saying. I’m sorry but we are spending that kind of bread and giving you a shot at signing Giannis, then I’m expecting a hell of a lot more. That money is dead weight on a player whole doesn’t perform anywhere close to his salary.

Let me ask you this and I'm not disagreeing with your statement at all... but would you accept Wiggins if it meant getting D Mitchell?

If I knew we would get him then I wouldn't think twice. But it will take a hell of a lot more than the number 2 pick just to get him, so realistically I wouldn't. That and the fact that I'm not looking to trade any of our 2021 picks. IF we do pull of this trade than it would be straight up for the number 2 pick or the Twolves 2021 pick (since its top 3 protected) and NOT a pick swap.

You misunderstood my question... I'm saying AEdwards has been compared to DMitch.... if so, we'd be trading for a player like DMitchell. So, if he turns out to be DMitch - would it be a trade you'd make? #2 (Edwards) & Wiggins for #8. Assuming Edwards transforms into DMitch.

I would think it's the other way around TBH. The DX guys said they've been following him since he was 15 or 16 in Europe. So I'd assume that NBA scouts have been following him for that long too. They were even surprised that he left the French league to go play in Germany too. I'm sure Hayes has worked out with teams but I haven't seen any reports about it though.

i care nothing about this, hopefully it lowers his value. he looks washed but it's also the first year off a major injury. if they can get him for next to nothing it's a lot better than overpaying fred van felton.
