Maybe there are multiple moves imminent. Curiouser and curiouser.

They just cant deal him due to the chemistry, I think. Would be a baaaad look, IMO

On our end, no because it's fine to send out more salary than one you receiving.

If hayward is going to the pelicans, then maybe? depending on the pelicans cap situation.

But I think the most likely scenario involves Hayward going to a third team.

Also, Hayward isnt opting out of 34.6M [38.2M if traded]. He’d only need to earn 60M over the following 3 years to equal a 4x25 offer this summer. He’d def take the bag.

I’m sure Hayward and Ainge are on the same page as of today. Maybe Hayward is looking forward to going to New Orleans. Who knows?

We all will find out soon enough

Guessing thats the frame work. That is a damn sexy move if we can make it.

I'm guessing it's not necessarily the #6 from Hawks. Could be seperate trade with some other team like Pistons, Knicks taking all 3 of our picks for #7, #8?

Hawks simply help us out by letting us use Hayward for salary matching.

I think there's a chance this is a smokescreen FWIW, but would be awesome if it happened

the dream scenario here is Hayward getting traded to a third team that DOESN'T have cap space forcing a sign-and-trade scenario in which the third team gives up something of value

We can reasonably end up with

NOP gets: #7 from Detroit, Jeremy Lamb (Salary matching)

BOS gets: Myles Turner, Jrue Holiday

IND gets: Gordon Hayward

NYK gets: #14, #26, #30

It doesn't really make sense to trade Hayward from a basketball perspective. Jrue is only 6'3, so he's kind of an undersized 2 guard. He seems overqualified to pick up the Wanamaker minutes and giving up three picks and Hayward seems like an overpay for Kemba protection. If we wanted a point guard it feels like we could just draft one to be all of those things.

This only makes sense if Smart is the one being moved (or Kemba but that seems very unlikely). Are we looking for a guy who can play great defense and also playmake to replace Marcus? Otherwise you have 3 guys, Kemba, Marcus, and Jrue that should all be playing 30+ mpg and are best when they're playing the point and defending points.

Kemba/Jrue/Brown/Tatum/Theis w/Smart off the bench

Kemba/Smart/Brown/Tatum/Theis w/Jrue off the bench

Kemba/Jrue/Brown/Tatum/Theis w/Hayward off the bench

Jrue/Brown/Hayward/Tatum/Theis w/Smart off the bench

Jrue/Smart/Brown/Tatum/Theis w/Hayward off the bench

Lots of options but sending out Gordon would leave us pretty thin at the swingman spot if Langford doesn't give us anything. Semi isn't giving us much either.

Maybe it's a huge trade that includes Hayward and Smart and we're bringing back Turner and Holiday?

If we get Redick/Jrue/Baynes in the offseason and lose Hayward/Wanamaker, that's a huge upgrade IMO.

At that point, we should get serious about this team as a title contender. Again though, this is Danny, so let's not just assume this is gonna happen, we've seen this before. And like I said, it could be a smokescreen or an attempt to drive the price up.

Not sure if this deal would happen but I think Danny is aware of the team needs and the need to upgrade the roster. He’s not an idiot lol he knows they need more shooting and help for the bench

It just seems like the PR hit on a Kemba trade would be so rough. I just can't see it.

Unless Kemba is thrilled to go to NO or some other city where he's re-routed.

Kaufman is in love with Myles Turner this is just wishful thinking on his part.

Trading Kemba after he just signed is an awful look too.
