Lakers rumored to have an interest in DeRozan.
Celtics are rumored to be floating Kemba's name around. Pacers a possibility.

One big thing I've heard about Kemba in the past is that he enjoys working with his younger teammates, makes sense that NO would be interested. It's why they added Redick last year.

If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

I'm more down for a Beal trade. I think the fit with Beal, Bam and Butler is very good. I feel like Beal is the ceiling we'd hope Herro would achieve one day so trading him and even Robinson for him would be worth it and after this past season I think the Wizards would be more receptive to that package without including Bam than they were last offseason.
I like Beal over someone like Harden for multiple reasons. I think Beal plays the right way, he can put up similar numbers to Harden while doing it in a multitude of ways and has proven he can play off the ball better than Harden has in the past. Harden's play style can be schemed against where I feel Beal is more team oriented. Beal's work ethic and mentality seem to align more with the Heat than Harden's plus the stories I've heard about Harden in Miami make me think off the court Harden would would be a bad combo.
Also a bonus for both Harden and Beal's contracts they both expire at the same time as Jimmy's which would give us $70-84mil coming off the books in 2022-2023.

On of the national media NBA podcasts mentioned a week or so ago Bertans already had a deal with another team, maybe it was a sign and trade.

Adam said... "I honestly don't think it's their pick anymore." and then said... "there may have already been a deal."
He says this right before 32:00 on today's Five on the Floor. Ethan then says he's heard basically the same thing hence the reason he(personally) is not doing a deep dive for who may be picked at 20.
It's why I said he's "basically" saying it wasn't really their draft pick. Also, I don't think it's within the NBA rules to be making trades or FA signings at this time, hence nobody is committing 100%.
Adam says after "I honestly don't think it's their pick anymore." and after the other guest responded wow as if it was a report, he says "noo not like that". Meaning this is not a report or scoop. Adam also says after your quote "there may already been a deal", by saying "you never know, I do not think its realistic that they keep the pick as trying to be contenders". Adam is speculating that they have or will agree to move the pick. Ethan agrees and says he THINKS and predicting they will not keep the pick. It is pure speculation.
It is illegal to be making deals at this time. But these discussions go on throughout the season. Teams and players have the right to back out of it. This offseason is short and teams and agents not gonna waste time. Players are gonna have to report to the new teams in like 3 weeks from now

That being said, I agree with this speculation. I am not optimistic about this draft because I do not expect the player to ever play for the Heat. I believe there will be a high level vet added to this team. At the very least one of the two Spurs that have been linked to the Heat. Spurs are working the phone to see what is the market for DeRozan and LMA. The same thing about the Pacers, as they search to see what the market is for VO.
Also, by the draft I think the Heat will know what trades can be done and what free agents can be had. I do not think the Heat are in play for a player above 30 mill per, but below 30 mill.

If Beal could keep the Wiz reasonably competitive I would agree. But he hasn't shown he's more than a very good looter in a riot

If we do not hear Dragic name or Crowder name in free agent rumors in the next few days, I believe the Heat have a deal in place for Crowder and Dragic. The big question will be Leonard. Leonard being resigned my be contingent on what trade goes down. If the Heat make a move for a Guard then Leonard might be resigned. If the Heat make a move for a big, then Leonard may be gone.

Who has he had to be competitive with? Last time Wall had a full healthy season they went 49-33 and that was when Beal was 23yo. If you just look at record and judge Beal you aren't looking deeply enough. Also Wizards have been a poorly run organisation for a long time.

Re: Miami Heat Speculation Thread - 2020 and beyond...
Wonder what kinda of shenanigans we can pull off this offszn to set us up for another solid playoff push.
I think the toughest thing will be the lack of a true, big rest for our players. They're gonna burn out. That, plus the lack of time to really work on their craft and develop areas of weakness (Bam jumpers, Herro handle for example).
My fear is that the player they were at the end of the bubble is the player they'll be this season. Which means they're good players, in Bam's case very good, but need to make another leap for us to continue in contention.

The interest on both sides was clearly there at the deadline, so I'm not surprised that we're favourites to land Gallo now. It's mainly the terms of the deal that will be of interest, if it comes to pass.

I'm not saying Harden isn't a better player than Beal. If we were starting our team from scratch I'd be more open to Harden being the guy we build around. Just don't see Harden making the right adjustments coming here to play with our guys and us maintaining the great chemistry we had last season. Harden seems more like a fantasy/NBA 2k move more than a Heat move.

Re: Miami Heat Speculation Thread - 2020 and beyond...
Honestly, Harden gets a bit of a bad rap.
I'll be the first to say that the past few years I have not enjoyed his game style, but I feel a lot of that was by design from Houston's FO and Coaching Staff. When Harden first got to Houston, and the ensuing years, he didn't just play flat out iso ball with step back treys and ref baiting for foul calls. Clearly he's very good at what he does, arguably the most potent offensive weapon in the league, but I don't find it enjoyable basketball myself.
I think with the right supporting pieces and a different coaching gameplan, Harden could get back to being the guy he was - albeit an improved version of him. His game is not based on athleticism, it will age very well. He's going to be a 30pt bucket for the next 3 years at minimum.
If he was willing to work and commit to getting himself in career best shape, I have no doubt he'd flourish here, particularly if we had Jimmy and Bam alongside him for balance his tendencies. Equally, he'd lift their games too.

Gallo in the Olynyk role, whether starting or on the bench, is a terrific upgrade.
I'm skeptical though if he is brought in to replace Crowder.
