Oubre a star? Ha ha...they clearly want to go after Giannis..this is well known...which is why they probably like that Oubre is expiring. they could see if Oubre wants to stay if they can't get Giannis or another star quality player.

I was gonna say he'd be a fan favorite but that's pretty impossible with Doncic around.

Well according to reports Dallas is trying to move up into the lottery to trade that pick (And Players) to New Orleans for Jrue Holiday. So i came up with this:

Now from the outside it looks like an impossible 5 team trade, but it really isnt. Its 2 separate trades, i just had to do them together so Dallas' salary cap would reflect what it would be after my original 4 team trade, which has them taking back less money in contracts than they are sending out.

So Suns send #10 to Boston for #14/#26/#30.

Suns make my original trade, but the #14 goes to Dallas, The #18 goes to OKC, Suns get #25 & #31

Dallas then sends Wright/Kleber/#14 to New Orleans for Jrue Holiday. They then end up with an INCRDIBLE starting line-up of PatBev/Jrue/Doncic/Oubre/Porzingis

Suns still end up with CP3/DFS/WCS and also hold #25/#26/#30 along with the first pick in the 2nd round which holds value as an unguaranteed contract that allows us to nab anyone we feel like slides out of the 1st round (Which we could cause by holding 3 of the last 5 picks in the 1st).

Thunder still get their large expiring, along with young prospect with potential Shamet and move up 8 spots in the draft.

Clippers still land Rubio.

Pelicans get Ball a back-up PG (Wright), a decent back-up PF in Kleber, but also go into the draft with 2 lotto picks, #13 & #14.

I think you need to add 1 more team.

I'm still against the Paul trade generally but of course I can't help myself:

It appears to me that if we renounce all of our free agents and go under the cap, we could trade Rubio for Paul without having to include Oubre. I think we could hold onto Carter too but may have to waive Okobo and/or drop Diallo to do so. So, say, Rubio + #10 + cap space for Paul + 25. We would definitely need to shore up the bigs rotation, but we'd get to keep Oubre in the Valley, stay in the draft in Bane's range, and go all-in on the "interchangeable wings" thing.

Guards: Paul/Booker/Payne/Jerome/Carter?
Wings:Oubre/Bridges/Cam/25?
Bigs: Ayton/Diallo?/25?

I really wouldn't mind that, especially if the team is sold on Bane, but I have a feeling OKC view Oubre as the standout asset the Suns can pitch. Rubio and 10 isn't but, but I'm 50/50 if it gets it done.

I agree. Don’t care about his whiny face but I’m not a fan off trying to get a two year window with an extremely aged PG to get to a 1st or 2nd round playoff exit while exiting younger players and draft picks.

I’m all for going all in but if you are going all in than go ALL IN. Not a fan of (excuse my language) going half-ass all in like this trade would be. Going all in is going for Anthony Davis or another young superstar as example.

I'll be pretty surprised if they want Oubre. I think they like DFS a lot and I think they have other creators. Porzingis can create. I think some of their guards can too. But Luka plays a lot like Harden and will iso or get the assist which is why he always has so many points and assists. I could be wrong if Dallas wants in on the deal but I think if they do the more likely case is to clear salary for next summer...DFS goes until the following summer, though it's only $4 million. But they are known as one of the 3 teams that wants to go for Giannis along with Miami and Toronto.

*Dallas has always liked Oubre, still just 24, and pursued the 6-7 standout when he was in Washington.

*The Clippers are rumored to possibly join Dallas in a four-way arrangement, and L.A. has at least two players on their roster with Mavs appeal: Front-court tough guy Montrezl Harrell and back-court tough guy Pat Beverley. Beverley was a premium target of Dallas' a year ago, and they conducted meetings designed to bring them together before he signed with the Clippers. Oh, and he's represented by super-agent Bill Duffy, who also happens to rep Doncic.

So I am seeing all over Twitter the Suns WANT to include the 10th pick. Has James Jones lost his mind. Chris Paul is an OKC salary dump. He needs to treat it that way.

Dude this probably scares me more about this deal than the risks with Paul himself. I don't trust Jones' and Bower's asset valuation or deal making skills at all... I could be on board with a deal like what Kerrsed proposed where we trade down some spots and get another useful player but if we just get Paul back for Rubio+Oubre+10 or even Paul+lower pick for Rubio+Oubre+10 that is a giant L of a deal, even if Paul works out for us. There is just zero reason we should need to do that to get a deal done.

Agreed, as a neutral fan with no horse in the race, there is absolutely no way you guys should have to part with the #10 for this deal. You are taking a big enough risk as is taking on CP3s contract.
