hope he's studying and watching film the other 3 days.

Agreed!
But I do wonder why the hell Sarver/ Jones can't open their wallets to have Ayton attend Hakeem Olajuwans' " Dream camp"???

http://www.olympedia.org/athletes/6768

After his retirement he started his own Big Man Camps, coaching and teaching many college and NBA players in the nuances of post play as a big man.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sportscasting.com/what-happened-to-hakeem-the-dream-olajuwon/%3famp

Olajuwon stayed connected to basketball and, in 2006, launched his first Big Man Camp. The camp was a re-creation of sorts of what he learned years earlier from Malone. In each camp, he taught front-court players the finer points of playing in the post. Through the years he has helped numerous players with their footwork and inside game including Yao Ming, Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, and LeBron James.

I’m convinced he has some sort of a personality disorder. He’s all about #bullyszn and #dominayton on social media but he plays like #softtedsybear on the actual court.

There’s nothing dominayton about his one and only move of pivot then take 15 ft jump shot as a 7 ft, 260 lb man.

It’d be nice if can let his play do the talking. Once his balls finally stop shrinking when he sees guys like Bam/Gobert/Embiid/Adams etc, only then can he be this hard macho persona that he’s trying so hard to be but failing miserably at.

Until then...

Maybe he's talking about his NBA2K play. He likes to dunk on everyone in that.

darealjuice wrote:Ball handling is the biggest thing for me, skill-wise. It doesn't need to be advanced, but he needs to expand his face-up game to more than jab step-jab step-jump shot/pass. Being able to put the ball on the floor and create contact is essential to getting to the free throw line. You're not going to get their consistently scoring on lobs, putbacks, deep paint touches, mid-range jumpers, and hook shoots/turnaround jumpers. Joel Embiid doesn't get to the free throw line 8 times a game without squaring up, driving, and creating contact.

Maturity is obvious. He's still a gangly, goofy kid that doesn't know what he's physically capable of or what kind of player he needs to be. It should come with age, not sure what age that'll be though. I trust Monty to get him where he needs to go.

Been saying this for years, but I think this is 99% of the reason that he doesn't draw fouls and doesn't attack the basket. He's more comfortable shooting than he is handling the ball. He either performs a back to basket move or immediately faces up into a jumper because he doesn't feel comfortable dribbling with his body not between defender and the ball.

I'm really interested to see how CP3 being on this team is going to impact Ayton mentally. He will either change Ayton completely or expose him. I think there is no in-between.

I am a Suns fan, I promise... but 2 years of Ayton has been beyond frustrating. I hope he takes the next step. I hope he finds some aggression and fire... and plays like his new tat. Sadly, I think the next step for Ayton will be losing his starting job to the new kid in town. Jalen Smith is about to serve some truth!

A better scenario is that these two push each other in practice, become besties and evolve into the best big-man tandem in the NBA!

Jalen Smith and DA can play together so I'm hopeful for the latter. DA needs a fire lit under his ass forreal

Yeah, they can both hit 3s and Ayton can switch onto wings on defense while Smith protects the rim. On offense Smith can spread the floor while Ayton plays inside (or possibly vice versa). I am sure we will start playing them together soon at times.

Looking at a lot of these signings in FA, it looks like a lot of teams will be playing 2 bigs.

This was already mentioned before but I think the Smith pick also allows us to use Ayton as a trade chip if some potential star FA wants out in a year or two. This is, of course, only if Smith really proves to be a multi dimensional player that can play at a high level on both ends.

For example if Kings continue to suck for next yr or two and maybe Fox develops into a star and wants out then (around the same time CP3 contract ends). Or if the TWolves still suck and Towns wants to leave. Many other opportunities that may show itself later.

Fox is the face of their franchise and just got a max which could turn into a supermax, though likely not. I was thinking maybe a guy like Beal, but it would have to be after the Paul contract expires (or at the trade deadline of his 2nd year if he gets injured or something we could include him as an expiring for him).

Paul could make a two bigs lineup work as it fits his style, I guess. Both Ayton and Smith setting screens for Paul and Devin, PnRs, PnPs all day.

If DA becomes expendable I hope there is a Giannis on the market rather than someone like Fox.

Yeah but even face of franchises can get upset if the team continues to suck yr in and yr out and they feel the need be somewhere else.

Beak will be right about 30 when CP3 contract expires I think. We can definitely make a move for him but then Book would be PG assuming Bridges remains starter at SF.

I was wondering about that. I think Jalen is a 4 but he can play the 5 as well...and he has range. I wonder if they think they can be a dark horse Giannis spot if things go bad in MIL and Ayton doesn't look like he has it in him to be David Robinson 2.0. Ayton and Bridges plus some picks is a decent deal for the Bucks. This is ONLY if Giannis were to tell them that he wants to come here of course and we can do a sign a trade with them.

Cp3, book, jevon, crowder will be on him all the time so hopefully some of their mentality rubs off on him

Sportsbooks have Ayton in the running for the most improved player. Thoughts?

Well, CP3 did make DeAndre Jordan an all-star.
