mavs maybe

suns I think they have the perfect setup with Mikal and Cam spacing the floor. Ayton and Randle operate in a lot of the same spots

heat (bam and him dont fit well at all)

Pacers (yes but they have Sabonis)

Memphis

again most of those spots he would be valuable off the bench. But no one pays a bench piece 20+ million. So its why his trade market is pretty suppressed.

Ayton got a 3 ball now. I think it can work.
Bam is gonna let the 3 fly next season too.

I dont think Randle is solely a bench piece. I think on those teams I listed he can start.

i mean ayton shot 13 3's last year at 23%. I wouldn't say that is having a 3 ball.

He is much more effective in the low block and pinch post. Which is the same with Randle.

I think his best fit offensively is next to KP and KAT. But both those teams defensive would be even more **** if that happened

westbrook is the kind of point thibs likes and i can't see anyone else actually taking him without receiving something to do so. very few teams can even make it work salary-wise. i'm not in favor of this but the biggest problem is the salary. how do you get anyone to play with him if he's taking up that much cap space ?

Risky at #8, but i really like his potential compared to the other prospects in this draft. I know they are just workout videos but i think the shot does look much better.

yup not risky at 16 though when you have 8 other 1st round picks :D

Ayton only really shot 3’s in the bubble. I believe he was efficient from 3 there. I think he’ll be average from 3.

Randle used to lock up players on the perimeter when he was on the lakers. I think he can get back to that level

I think that trade makes sense for both sides.

But man clippers ended up trading there entire future for Westbrick and Covington...not a good look.

But Westbrook probably would play off Kawhi better and covington is a nice piece for the clippers as well. There is no doubt P13 and Harden fits better than Harden and Westbrook

Westbrook is already is starting to decline. A lot of players decline fast in their 30’s….ESPECIALLY PGs that rely heavily on athletiscm. We have seen this countless times on the Knicks. Marbury, Francis, Felton, etc, etc. Even Melo declined real fast.

Then throw in Thibs as the coach, pressure in NY and horrible spacing? There might not be a worse player we could bring in. Not sure how anyone can see this as anything but a horrible idea. Fire everyone and start over if they want to do this.
Mavs
C: Horford | Goga | Paul Reed |
PF: Lauri Markkanen | Randle | Tucker
SF: Trey Murphy | Trent | Anderson | Simone
SG: Vassell | Trent | Livingston
PG: Spida | Mann | Deuce

I'd be more ok with Randle if it wasn't for the fact that between RJ and Mitch being viewed as our young core he is a very poor fit with them. He's not nearly as bad as people make him out to be but he is a terrible fit. We need a stretch 4, desperately

most teams need a stretch 4 because there a very few stretch 5's. So he is a bad fit at least as a starter for like 95% of teams.

He also doesn't play defense. So he its not a surprise he never has played on winning teams.

He’s a good fit on the Mavs, Pacers, Suns, Heat, Memphis

he would be a good fit with the mavs (i wanted him when we had KP) and Memphis, yes. but the other 3 ? TERRIBLE. him and bam would kill the heats spacing. And he would not fit with either Sabonis or Ayton.

Yeah, I made my peace with that a while ago, too.

We keep wanting to go from a laughing stock to contender by having a massive signing, and that just doesn't happen if the team is trash juice. Obviously previous regimes have effed things up further by not bottoming out to ensure the highest pick possible, but at the very least the regime appears to be poised to try and build intelligently through resource management (Aller), player development (Payne, et al), and accountability (Thibs).

Once Rose brought in this infrastructure there was absolutely zero, zilch, nadda, NO chance of a '20-'21 season that had "worst record in the league" potential, as a primary, secondary, or even tertiary option. There's no, "see what we have in the kids, and if it doesn't work out we'll get a stud at the top of the next draft" approach anywhere in the vicinity of The Garden at this point.

This isn't to say that they're going to go out and make a Westbrook mistake, but instead that we need to build like the Bucks, Nuggets, and Raps - establish a solid, talented, competitive roster through the development of mid-lotto picks and smart FA signings, maintain financial flexibility, and THEN legitimately be in the conversation for a superstar that becomes available on the trade market or in FA.

let's say he stays healthy and can produce like this for the next few years, my question is what is the plan after you get him ? that huge contract makes it impossible to sign anyone to play with him. so it's just gonna be the russ show for 3 years ? or trade away almost everything else to get him a partner ?

Well, you have Mitch down as future all star, so that's 2 pieces right there. :D
RJ the 3rd option.
