It's about ADDING Giannis as opposed to TRADING for Harden.

One will cost you our best assets (Picks + Herro + Duncan + more) when the other cost us nothing if we wait a year.

Look at AD and really think about what you are proposing.
AD is the best free agent this off-season. AD would be great on our team. Will it happen, lol. Pat can sit in front of him, give him the speech about culture winning and AD will laugh at him. The Lakers traded for AD. They could have waited but now have a ring.

Unless you are 100% sure player X is coming, you make the trade for a super star. We got lucky with the big three since we had the mvp of recruiting Wade. We have Butler, “you can’t guard me” doing the recruiting....

AD already wanted to be in LA before he was even traded. More realistically its the Raptors/Kawai scenario for a team trying to trade for a player if he doesn't expressly say he wants to play for that particular team. If a team that Giannis doesn't want to play for trades for him this season, I'd still like our chances, and even if at the end of the day he doesn't come I'd still prefer to have what we have vs a 33 year old jimmy, 32 year old Harden, 34 year old Dragic with the only young player being Bam. The Rockets are not gonna want just herro or robinson. They are going to want everything, Nunn, Herro, Robinson, Kz for **** and giggles, and like 5 first round picks plus Bernie, and to that I say "Hell no, to the no no no".

That's what a Harden trade looks like, it doesn't leave us in a better place, in fact it makes us much worse. Even if we don't get Giannis, that free agent class is loaded, just wait a year and see what happens.

Lakers beat us with 2 stars and scrub 1-7

Those two GENERATIONAL TALENTS so happen to also be the biggest and strongest dudes on the court, that play defense and a team game. Harden while a generational offensive talent, doesn't play the complete game that is required to win. Every time we've won it hasn't been just pure offensive power, we play both ends of the floor, Harden doesn't. Harden to me is the equivalent of Melo, great offense, will never win a championship. Actually forget Giannis, forget kawai, forget Harden. If we had AD instead of the lakers, we'd be set up for a multi championchip dynasty. But Lebron got his little grubby hands on him first, he's exactly what this team is missing.

The way I see if even is we had Harden we'd still loose vs the Lakers 9 times out of ten, he wouldn't fix the issues we had against them (Size, rebounding, and Defense).

Harden's a better defender than any of our guards outside of Jimmy(if you even consider Jimmy a guard still). He'd make us better in size, rebounding and defense, but also in the only catagory that mattered and that's talent.

He's dragged his teams far, but by his account and peers account he only plays a certain way when he has to, and he's had to

If this were to go down, I suspect it would kill the Harden rumors.

Scoop B is a trade deadline scam artist, I literally don't think he's been right about anything. I do think it's interesting that any team still has even a little interest in him and his contract --

Things like these makes me think Dragic is going to be back in Miami.

Uh oh. Heat fans going to be pissed that the 15th spot is being tied down again. That 15th spot was so damn critical.

This Has to be fake. Harden doesn’t have the best reputation for coming up big in the playoffs but PG is the absolute worst by that metric.

Caron Butler joining us! That’s amazing. Caron was one of my favourite Heat players in the sadly brief time he was with us. Knew he was going to develop into an All Star, and he was terrific for Washington.

Ontop of that, he’s an outstanding person. Great hire.

Okay, right now- If you could get either Beal, Harden, or Giannis for the same money in FO, who would you choose and why?

I'd take any of them. Reading this thread seems like we can just have our choice.

For those who want to sell the farm for Beal, why not go after a cheaper asset/contract shooter/scorer in LaVine? In Miami I'd expect Beal's assists would probably drop with Butler and Bam handling the ball also.

PER 36 and ORTG/DRTG last year with their contract per year.
LaVine 26.4 pts, 4.4 ast, 5.0 reb, .568 TS, 106 ORTG, 110 DRTG -4 overall 19.5 mil, 19.5 mil
Beal 30.5 pts, 6.1 ast, 4.2 reb, .579 TS, 113 ORTG, 117 DRTG -4 overall 27 mil, 34 mil, 37 mil

I'd expect Spoelstra would find a way to better utilize LaVine and possibly get him to play team defense.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE LaVine.... but how much cheaper are we talking?

If we can get LaVine for Nunn, KO, Iggy and a pick or 2 - Fine.

The Bulls would want a farm for Lavine too. It's unlikely they'd get one, though.

I didn't realize Beal had so many heavy handed dunks.

I'm not willing to sell the farm for anyone, but it's fun to think about how he'd produce here.
