Can't see how. They don't have the contracts to send out.

Once FA starts
Green + Bradley+McGhee + Kuzma should do it

That's terrible

difficult to image they could get much more though. Demar is 31 and he is depreciating asset with one-year left on his contract(player option). Kuzma is a 20-point scorer and only 25.

Considering how Pop's relationship with the Lakers I doubt that deal happens if that's the best they can get

A clear picture of Leon Rose’s Knicks will finally emerge - New York Daily News

Over the next two weeks, Rose’s plans will become obvious, whether he discusses them or not. The trade moratorium lifts Monday. The draft is Wednesday. Free agency follows almost immediately. It’s a condensed and pressure-packed offseason being navigated by a novice, Rose, whose tenure thus far can best be described as a game of connect-the-CAA-dots.

Rose’s decisions will tell us whether the Knicks, under his watch, are aiming for immediate contention or continuing their rebuild. If he makes a run at Russell Westbrook or deals prospects/picks for a win-now piece, the timeline is shifted. If he keeps the draft pick, signs young free agents and acquires assets, the development stage moves forward. If he maintains cap space for next summer, prepare for the run at Giannis Antetokounmpo. From what we’ve gathered from two sources who’ve been in contact with the Knicks about roster decisions, Tom Thibodeau is pushing win-now moves. That’s predictable. It’s how the coach is wired. Thibodeau is also a former team president who acknowledged having a say in New York’s roster construction.

“I think the important thing for me is to just be able to have a voice,” Thibodeau said recently. “I’ve known Leon and (top Knicks executive William Wesley) for a long time, so they’ve asked my opinion on a number of things. Doesn’t mean that they’re always going to do what I ask them to do, but I think there’s a trust factor there, so I do think that’s important.”

For a protected first-round pick, I would've loved for the Raptors to jump in on that for Oubre Jr.

I don't get why the Raptors are playing it so safe. This team isn't contending next year and we need to take a gamble on getting talent here. Oubre has his issues but he's also very talented and would've been a good fit.

The fact the Knicks appear to have a somewhat competent front office for once is slightly concerning. They aren’t just going to let Brooklyn take over the city

I know Dolan is still there, but we’ll see

It's unfortunate. At this point though, considering the Knicks have basically refused to trade with Masai again, I guess we're better off if there are other incompetent teams in the league instead...

Celtics clearing space. Traded Enes, Bane, and Poirier for basically nothing. About 9-10mil in savings.

How In the world did Hayward get that much cash. Does he have a cure fire COVID that he will share to other teams.

Completely speculating here but maybe the front office is low-key looking to get Turner or something. We know the Pacers were willing to trade him to the Celtics for Hayward. Perhaps we're looking to dangle Powell as the centerpiece with Johnson and McCaw to match salaries?

Turner's contract goes beyond 2021. Not acceptable, unless Giannis signs for the supermax this week.

Wouldn't we still have room for a max slot by trading Norm who has a player option in 2021? You'd be trading Stanley and Patrick to match salaries but they're off the books after this season, so you'd be looking at the difference in salary between Turner and Powell.

No. For this team as is, Norm's contract has to be off the books to have max cap space in 2021.

Think of it. Cap will be ~$112 mill. Max salary is 34, so we can't be more than 78 mill. In 2021, we're paying (very roughly) 33 + (Pascal) + 20 (Fred) + 11.5(OG's cap hold) + 3.6 (Matt and Dewan) + 2 (TD cap hold) + 2.5 (two 2020 draft picks) + 4.5 (5 extra roster spots x 900K cap hold) = 77.1 mill. Tight squeeze, but we certainly can't afford to add Norm or Turner in there.

other thing to think about is most likely raps will have to renounce lowry if giannis agrees to come here.

because warriors had TPE to fit him, and thus thunder didnt take any salary back.

thunder needed to create cap room to fit the horford/danny green trade.

thats why the return for oubre feels so light.
