They keep telegraphing picks, I knew Joe had a promise from Phila months ago, but now it's out there

I don’t think Morey cares what brand and company promised prospects months ago.
Besides that I don’t think there’s any way we’re taking him at 21, but I’m down with taking a 6’5” shooter in the 30s instead of barely 6’ guards with limited athleticism and standing reach of 8’ so much has to break right just for them to make it.

I'd certainly rather have Joe than Terry

Joe really doesn't do much for me, but at least he has upside as a 3&D on paper.

Just when we thought the Danny Ainge troll toll was over.

There is no way we don't get jacked up again this year for Joe, just like last year for Mattisse. The whole damn world knows we are gonna take Isaiah Joe.
I really hope this doesn't mean we're planning to take him at #21, which I suspect may be the case.

I hope the Celtics get him. He really doesn't move the needle for me either.

I dont think the sixers are swooning over anyone in particular but it looks like they are doing their due diligence. Im a littl surprise they didnt interview tyrese maxey.

Those aren't good news but I'm still interested. That's about Chris Paul or Steph Curry size, not saying he'll be those guys obviously but height matters less when you shoot really really well off the dribble and Terry definitely can do that. Overall I just like that he's always smart, fast, and creative with the ball, always looks dangerous. His game is better suited to the NBA than college, too, and there's something hard to pass up about him (even if he could bust).

I agree. Overreacted to the measurements. Still like Terry as the best possible option at #21. This makes it more likely he's still available then.

I'm not convinced he'll be our best option but I'd be more excited for him than other smaller shooters. I worry about his shot being a little slow and him just no being able to make things happen in the NBA, but I love great touch and tough shot-making mixed with hustle and an active brain. If I'm gonna go down I'll go down with that.

If Noel backs out on us, or even if not, what about Vernon Carey at #34 or #36? Crazy young as he'll play most of his rookie year at age 19. Put up massive numbers. And apparently has lost a lot of weight to become more athletic. He's shown a good long range shooting stroke too, which is obviously important to play with Ben.
I'm not seeing too many guys with that kind of potential there.

Not that they’re similar prospects, but I think a team would have to hope for Duncan Robinson type production from him to draft him early because he doesn’t really have the skillset to be much more than a shooter.

Yeah I don’t get the over reaction, to half an article while ignoring the important part which I’ve put in bold:
According to sources, he was high on the Sixers’ radar BEFORE Daryl Morey was hired as the president of basketball operations two weeks ago.
One source said the expectation was that the Sixers intended to select the sharpshooter in the draft. While picking him at 21 might be considered a reach, the belief is it would happen early in the second round.
Also ignoring the fact that it’s Keith Pompey and a mid second rounder neither are things worth having any sort of strong emotional reaction to.
