2021 Season Pre-Season Decisions That Matter

Post#41 » by thomas1897 » Mon Oct 26, 2020 11:30 am

The Celtics were beaten by Miami with great shooting, team play, execution and coaching. The Celtics have all of these qualities; however, they did not perform at the right moment when it counted. How does this get corrected and moving forward? Please provide some answers that can be entertained by the management (Celtics' Fans). The Celtics are good and should go to the next level a championship contender.

I think we're still several pieces away. We need another big, and frankly I think we need another star. I guess that could be the same person.

And we need a guard who can score off the bench

I really don't think we need another big, at least not one that is hard to find. Add a Baynes, McGee type to what we have and we are fine at center.

What we need is another primary initiator. I love Tatum but the Heat series showed he's not in that Luka mold yet where you can just hand him the ball and he can get his AND get other guys great looks. Kemba disappointed me there as I thought he could fill that role, but I do understand his injuries may have played a factor there.

The clearest path to resolve that is Tatum and Brown developing more as playmakers, but absent that we need another guy who can break down a D off the bounce and create open looks for others against tough defenses. A guy like Dragic even would be a big boost. De'Aaron Fox would be my ideal in that kind of role but doubt he'll ever become available in the near-term.

Big ball handler and a big over 610 that can not foul out

Give me all the pg's they can take turns bringing the ball down driving to the basket and getting a charge or getting the ball blocked on d they can stand on each other's back and promptly get bumped off there mark. Every year I want two of them drafted compete for the 6 minutes we have available. I should have known that pg and tiny guys are the way to win give me more please. Next year if those two 2nd rounders are not point guard s I'm gonna be pissed also our late pick next year better be a pg.the fastest one though
