Speed and quickness are nice, but knowing what to do with the ball ranks way higher and there seem to be PGs in this draft who are more evolved at facilitation than Kira

I'd still rather draft a PG than sign FVV and if we're going to do that I'd prefer a more mature playmaker who can start as a rookie

Honestly I think Cassius Winston beside LaMelo is the best out of all the PG to running a team. If we can get another late 1st I won't mind taking him. Even if we get a Hayes. Winston is a winner and can shoot... dude is Lowry light. Another one is M.Flynn

I don’t think guys don’t like okoro it’s just that your drafting a guy with clear shooting weaknesses to an already terrible shooting team. Even when you want to overlook that shooting weaknesses what stand out skill set does he have on offense to makeup for it?

I’d tAke him at 8 just because I like the upside but I mean it’s Not an ideal fit

The Knicks are not in the position to be drafting for "fit". They need top end talent at all positions - the exception C. And even then (sorry sham) if Wiseman is there(he will not) we should take him.

Okoro is a physical freak who can get to the rim. If he can continue doing that at the NBA level and develop a 3 we could have a star. I'd rather take that chance than play it safe for "fit". Especially considering what we have so far.

I gotta say, I wouldn’t give assets for Hayward. If we got poop like 18 mill and they got poop for 30ish mill, then they better pay us extra for taking that extra poo.

The problem with Okoro is that if he doesn’t further develop his shot he’s not gonna be that good. Of course if he develops it then he’s going to be really good and perhaps a star player. So it’s risky with him.

Really hoping we sign FVV just so the Fred Van Felton nickname doesn't die - sht is gold

Also, something that shouldn't be overlooked with us drafting Okoro is how fun it will be to divide this board into team Okoro vs team RJ.

And it's not like his expiring is going to do us any good. We're already under the cap and Randle's contract is quite manageable

On behalf of the zillion posters on here accused of not liking Okoro simply because we don't want to draft him: thank you. You put into words exactly what we are feeling.

There is very little talent on this team. Very, very, very little talent. A tiny, little, minuscule, you-need-to-see-it-with-a-microscope amount of talent. But the tiny bit of talent this young team DOES have is in defense, rebounding, "heart", "motor" and other things Okoro and Vassell reportedly bring to the table.

The team is also unholy amounts of bad in scoring, assists, and floor spacing. We could use a single player that is good at these very important things, and a lottery pick would go a long way toward helping. Could Okoro develop these areas? Absolutely. I'm definitely higher on his potential than Vassell in these areas. -But asking Okoro to develop in these areas is akin to our already shaky ask of RJ Barrett, Frank, and Knox to do so.

Okoro is not a physical freak c'mon now.

He's got solid size for a wing but nothing freaky. He's not freakishly strong nor freakishly explosive. He's got solid athleticism but again nothing freaky about it

I understand Okoro swing skill is he shooting but the kid has so much going for him. Elite athleticism, elite finisher with both hands and elite defense. The kid really has a chance to be special

I agree we aren’t In position to draft based off fit but I think some kind of fit should still play a role because you still want to put your guy in position to actually succeed.

What’s the offense looking like with barret/okoro/Mitch? Do you park barret in the corner and give okoro the ball, do you park okoro in the corner and give barret the ball? These dudes have similar play styles and similar weaknesses Offensively and neither can shoot off ball. there going to be stepping on each others foot.

Why not take Kira or Patrick Williams both who have high upsides with less the hassle

that Celtics offer was most likely 14, 26 and 30 not just 26 and 30.

then again, LegionHoops isn't a real source, so it's probably fake
