If the long play is the add that third star, we better keep every rookie we got because you can't find better cost/value ratio then a rookie contract.
Bam + Jimmy + Added star will take around 90% of the cap, then we'll have to pay Duncan. A good player on a rookie deal is practically a golden financial asset to have.
This goes both ways tho Rex. A pick is like a car, it's generally worth way more before you actually use it. Only in rare cases where the player completely outperforms their expectations is that not the case.
Yea well, we have like 4 of those outperformers on the team right now, they're the ones that made this season possible.
If we can roll the dice on another guy, we shouldn't discount the opportunity in a weird deep draft.
Robinson and Nunn had to be stashed away for a year to develop. Bam took 3 years to develop before out performing his contract. Herro is the only one outperforming his contract first year after being drafted. That luxury for development in the summer league or gleague is taken away for the time being..
A lot had to lineup up like a solar eclipse for everything to meet up perfectly. We lost to a team with two huge contracts and cost effective veterans. And they are about to get rid of Kuzma.
Butler has a window that needs to be taken advantage of. Butler is really the only star player. Bam has gotten a lot of recognition but he hasn't gotten to the level Butler yet.
The negative is about to hit when your players play well on rookie contracts. The potential to over pay them comes along. Which is what happen with Whiteside. We have a one yr window before the Heat has to pay the piper.
