I thought Loma won 4-5 rounds. They were pretty clearly from those rounds 7-11. Lopez looked bewildered by a lot of those combos of 'placed' shots - his head getting rocked back and forth. But, all credit to TL, he decisively took that 12th round. That was brutal.

I wonder if Loma's strategy had to do with TL's size. He did not think he could stop TL with those gadlfy combos and also did not think he could sustain that pace for 12 rounds. So opted to only turn it on midway through the fight. He didn't want to start at that pace and then have to give way late in the fight.

Also, he could not get around TL's lead arm. Length and skill on TL's part, all credit. When he did, in the later rounds, it took a lot of energy. A lot of manic feints and footwork. And he had to psychologically pressure TL to keep him confused and take away that lead. That would not have been sustainable.

I had the fight 115-113 for Teo. Once again, the judges score cards(Lederman in particular) were atrocious. But it didn't matter in the end because the right man won.

Loma was way too cautious in the early going. He didn't start letting his hands go until the last 5 rounds of the fight. Also, Teo just looked so much bigger than him. Like he was fighting in one or two weight classes above him. Loma did have him hurt on a few occasions, but couldn't sustain it because Teo would have knocked him out for being too aggressive.

I think Loma will bounce back. He should probably move back down to 130 though. He is not a natural 135 pounder.

Papi_swav wrote:Good fight. Loma started wayyy too late. Loma is my favorite boxer now but he doesn't look like how he looked in the past. Maybe his power doesn't translate that well at 135. I had it 115-113 Lopez but I was hoping for a tie so we can see a rematch. Congrats to Lopez though, he dug deep and pulled it out . Some very good fighters in 130-135 divisions.

Loma is still Loma. Teo was just too physically strong for him. You can't fight a certain way against naturally bigger fighters. Also, Teo's boxing skills were really underrated going into this fight. When Loma tried to spin right, Teo was right there with him. He also used his range effectively to set up those body shots.

What a vicious uppercut knockout by Gervonta Davis, that was crazy !!! Great fight up until that point, it was a brawl and both guys was doing damage. Wish it had gone longer but congrats to Gervonta, dude is a beast. Him and Lopez would make a crazy fight.

Haney vs Gamboa was so boring. I feel bad for Gamboa, he was on his way to a hall of fame career but then got screwed by promoters etc.. Haney on the other hand has a long way to go. He's ok but I don't think he can beat guys like Teofimo lopez, Davis, Ryan Garcia, Lomachenko etc.. He don't have good pop, he was hitting Gamboa with some good shots but it didn't even seem to faze Gamboa at all. I think Lopez is the top guy in this division but Loma is not too far behind.

Gamboa looked so terrible and shot in that last fight against Davis, I don't have the heart to watch this fight against Haney. Forget Haney.

Gamboa ruptured his Achilles in the 2nd round I think of the Tank Davis fight and still managed to finish the fight. Gamboa is a veteran and I won't under estimate him but he's washed at this point. I think he's like 37 already, he's pretty much just a stepping stone and a name for these young guys while also getting a paycheck. I was a huge fan back then in like 2008-2010ish but he got screwed around in the prime of his career. But yea Haney isn't all that. I don't think he can hang with the elite fighters in that division.

Bud Crawford is a beast. Can't believe he stopped the tough Kell Brooks with a quick jab. I thought it would of been a much tougher fight for Bud. They need to make the fight with Spence already.

Damn, Crawford's ability to land crazy punches in a finishing melee is nuts. He's throwing from crazy angles but doesn't miss.

This Spence/Garcia fight went how I expected it to go. Danny gets too conservative and don't know how to bring a fight, he just waits for the counter punch. Spence did what he had to do but he didn't look as sharp as he used to. Spence/Crawford needs to be next !

No chance Spence Crawford happens unless Bud leaves Top Rank.

I can see Spence fighting Thurman next. They’re going to keep everything in The PBC house.

True but the reason is because Haymon thinks Crawford beats Spence.

They present the biggest risks to each other. I’m more disappointed that neither fighter has called out the other in their recent wins. They too are responsible for this fight not happening. If they both applied public pressure on their promoters, this fight would have been made. Instead we have another Pacquiao/Mayweather situation where the fight is going probably happen way past its expiration date.

Callum Smith is for real. I don't care how many PEDs Canelo gets jacked on, Smith is a sincere 168 and super refined. Very competitive.

They look ridiculous next to one another.

Canelo's skull shape...LOL. His head is +30% from 5 years ago. Those little eyes and tiny mouth within that massive dome. Equine growth hormones, they're what the body needs.

Meanwhile, Smith is so **** lean.

I'm excited to see this because Canelo can't use all that casual defensive movement at the waist and shoulders as he works his way in. Callum is awesome at finding the body and with both hands. If Canelo thinks he can plant his feet and move at the hips, he's going to get banged to the ribs from a guy with dozens of body shot KDs. He's so gangly that he can throw from ridiculous angles.

Nor can he pierce Callum's guard, which is airtight. I expect Canelo's team has made sure that this is a tiny ring with a soft floor (like the Klitschkos would do). Cos if Callum can keep moving and avoid getting backed into the ropes, he is a real problem.

My worry is that Smith's training has been really compromised cos of UK covid restrictions. He doesn't have the money to put hundreds of thousands into a training camp with isolated fighters and personal swimming pools and whatnot.
