DeRozan, poll

A or B?

Poll ended at Mon Nov 16, 2020 2:11 am

We should pursue a third star, like CP3, RW, dMdR. DeRozan is the perfect fit next to LBJ and AD.

B
I doubt the Lakers have any interest in Derozan. Fake news.

It could be Pop’s crew sending feelers via social media. Maybe he’s hoping to get Rob U Blind or Kuz’ agent to call him...

I’m 100% straight against the idea of DeRozan. Awful fit. Bloated contract.

No to CP3 and Russell Westbrook. I'm for DeRozan because he can help out dribble penetration scoring tremendously. We sucked majorly at that last season. Plus his playmaking ability and his high flying hops are bonuses. LBJ throwing lobs to DeMar would definitely put a few smiles on our faces.

SBB, I respectfully disagree. I think we have enough dribble penetration in THT, LBJ, RR, AD, AC.

Many will continue arguing (I’m one of them) that the one major offensive improvement we can’t miss addressing this off-season is elite 3PT shooting. DeRozan doesn’t address that need.

The secondary need from a star with star pay would be elite wing defense. DeRozan doesn’t address that.

I voted B because what we lack are shooters.

However, trading Kuzma+Green+28th for Derozan is an absolute steal for the Lakers. No way you decline your 2 worst playoff performers for an allstar SG.

I'd say option A depends on which star we are looking at. If its CP3, RW or dMdR for Kuz AND Green, then i'd say no thanks and sign GAllo to the MLE instead.

Giving up two key lengthy defensive players for another 2 way defensive player is fine but there's too much loss here w demar.

Having a DeRozan or CP3 is a difference of 14 million, and CP has an extra year in 2021-2022 for 44 million. So in total thats 58. You should make an extra option for going after a supermax guy this season or all-star level players such as a DeRozan. Having DeRozan doesn't mess up our flexibility to sign a max guy next season. Having CP3 this year would.

Good point. It was mostly about getting a read on what folks think about dMdR.

I think we are going to have to make a move. West will be even harder. If clips get cp3 with Leonard and PG13 we are in trouble. Healthy warriors team should also give us fits. If we want to repeat its going to be a lot harder this coming season with our current roster.

Just getting the same team back would be great.

I am beyond happy with our championship. But I don’t feel confident with our same roster it’s going to be as easy.

There aren't enough possessions to go around amongst 3 stars on this team. I do wish we can upgrade the bench quite a bit - qualitatively and depthwise, but a third star could be a dangerous proposition.

Read on Twitter

I wouldn't mind if he's a one year rental. But we would get weaker at three point shooting. I'd say he should be near the bottom of the list.

Agree with those saying option B.

If we are trading Kuzma let’s improve our 3 pt shooting instead.

having that third all star would help Lebron during the regular season with load management, it could potentially help lengthen his career. would also solidify AD resigning with us, in case he's having some second thoughts.

but obviously if it means we're gonna have to gut the team to the point where we only have enough money to pay garbage players, then it'll be a useless move. a balanced roster is still the key at the end of the day.

We are potentially losing :

Two guards (kcp rondo )

Two 3 and D (kuzma green )

Two centers (Dwight javale)

Let's bring in someone worthy enough to replace vital parts lost
