Shams & Woj: Green, 28 for Dennis Schroder

Post#1 » by TylersLakers » Sun Nov 15, 2020 4:04 pm

Per Shams & Woj, the Lakers and OKC are in "advanced discussions" to acquire Schroder.

I like this move.

I'm all for this trade, just what the Lakers need.
Rondo is definitely gone now...

Couple things that this trade has me thinking. Loosing Green do lakers have another wing already on board? Can Lakers get OKC to take on McGee or Cook contract as well?

Kuz is happy now lol....We cant really consider trading him now. Low salary and we can match any offer he gets next year. I think this says alot about Robs plans over the next few weeks. There certainly wont be any big trades happening and im pretty sure Kuzma is safe now.

He can still be added to Bradley + Cook and I'm sure they'll make that move for a wing like PJ Tucker now with Green gone.

Really good move for you guys. He can score at the volume the Lakers need for a third option, handle the ball, and space the floor pretty well especially with LeBron kicking out. I'm higher on Danny Green than some but for Schroder you do it ten out of ten times.

What are the likely moves for LAL from here on out? I haven't been following too much what's going on with Bradley, Rondo, Dwight, etc. Ibaka would be perfect for you guys but he'd need to take a steep discount.

Some quick thoughts. Overall I like this trade and think it's a win for the lakers. Schröder will help burden the scoring load and be the facilitator we will definitely need this upcoming season. With rumblings that the Lakers will come out slow due to LeBron's possible load management and the older players needing more time, this is a welcomed sight and a breath of fresh air, not having to rely each night on both AD & LeBron. This trade is also a possible consequence of the possibility of losing Rondo. I don't think we will be able to keep Rondo for whatever he's going to get on the open market. I'll miss playoff Rondo, but having a reliable 18pt scorer that can help our lack of penetration is a great addition. I also think this puts a lid on the DeRozan trade talk rumours since we can't offer our pick and Danny's salary relieve anymore. And once again, Kuz has seemed to survive the traderumblings by the tiniest hair.

That is an excellent trade. Schroeder fits almost exactly what we are looking for in that role, a ball handler who can run an offense, score as the focal point of the bench mob and play with the stars with his shooting ability. And we get rid of Green's underwhelming butt and wouldn't have to overpay Rondo. Excellent job by the front office.

Schroeder just said the other day he doesn’t want to go to a big market team. He actually seemed serious.

Lakers will now probably make a significant push to land Moe Harkless in FA.

Not a big fan of the trade right now but will wait to see the other moves the Lakers make. No money is saved and Lakers lost an SF defender they now must replace.

Though I do think that Rondo and Bradley are probably gone so it was probably necessary for Lakers to get Schroder.

Not very happy about this. I'd rather keep the team intact.
