I'd think Morey would be interested in Danny Green. I doubt OKC is going to hold on to him and he should not be expensive to acquire. I think he's still tremendously underrated and provides excellent value for a great team.

Re: Fixing the Mess Pt. 2 Sixers Offseason
The lack/conflict of leadership I see in a Harden-Durant-Irving trio is already showing itself if true that Irving isn't into Harden coming aboard. I'm not all that sure that Morey is hard targeting Harden to bring him to the Sixers, but likely has a lot of pokers in different fires. I'm sure he will make a run at Harden, but not without plenty of backup/alternative plans. We could do well as the third team in on some other deals. working the margins in Hinkie-speak.
Danny Green I am meh on, he seems to be backsliding, though shooters can have up and down years. Not sure we have the right salaries to give up for him and would not go too asset heavy.

We'll probably start hearing about trades before noon, right?

Credit, Will Weaver who was the G-League Nets coach and led them to the Finals with TLC, Musa and Kurucs. He just got the assistant job in Houston, ironically.
Fwiw he averaged 18 a night in April of his rookie year when Embiid and Simmons were out. When you’re on an ghost ship roster someone has to score points.
Either way it seems pretty silly to act like he has legit trade value for a team that would be presumably rebuilding in a trade for one of the best players in basketball. He’s gonna be 26 in May and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. If he has trade value then someone like Korkmaz probably has a decent amount more.
We could simply swap that for Nic Claxton, Kurucs or the 19th pick. Claxton would be a tough pill to swallow because he’s our best kept secret who didn’t make the bubble cause of surgery. We could also offer 4 2nd Rounders (that aren’t ours) to boost the Rockets lack of 2nds and send out multiple 1sts ontop of Dinwiddie/Levert/Allen.
I’m being realistic of how Marks might play this because quite frankly, he is very opportunistic. He’s likely looking to add a 3rd team involved as well.
The Sixers will no doubt make a swift offer because nobody wants to see a super team in their backyard and we get that. I’m still likely to believe Houstok won’t probably do this until next season or at the deadline.
I’m not saying the Sixers should put together an offer, I’m saying that talking about these fringe prospects and assets like they’re gonna move the needle in a James Harden trade is a waste of time. I could make an analogy with the Sixers but I think it would just be confusing things at this point.

Ben to Nets. Harden to Philly.
And those scrubs (dinwiddie, lavert) to Rox.
Would a trade that would make more sense in terms of fit.
Ben for Harden makes more sense. Than that scrub package Nets is offering.

Fringes prospects to who? We have pieces that are well regarded.
Dinwiddie was a Top 10 guard in All-Star voting, LeVert is a legit borderline all-star player who definitely raised his value in the bubble and Allen is still young and improving.
Musa has already registered interest allegedly with Indiana, Nets have already turned down offers for Kurucs in the past.
Most of these guys cannot get minutes due to an obvious logjam.
The last time, fans trashed our “core” at the time, resulted into Brook Lopez turning into a key piece in Milwaukee soon after, also giving value that was unexpected (former #2 pick) and Bojan Bogdonovic was trashed for not being much of a player. An overhyped euro scrub on a Nets team headed for a dark age and he has become that key piece in Indiana and now Utah.
The Nets former G-League coach, Will Weaver just took the assistant coaching job in Houston, he coached practically everyone on that list including Dinwiddie. So, I’d imagine he’s giving them intel on his former prospects if Houston would ask for a scouting report before any discussion.

Re: Fixing the Mess Pt. 2 Sixers Offseason
everybody thinks their prospects are better than they are.
If they were worth that much, then you wouldn't have to add that many to the deal. This is the same song and dance the Lakers fans said too. I actually like most of those dudes but LeVert got buckets on a team that was dead (he is also 27 and has foot concerns). Dinwiddie is good but also a weirdo who probably will either walk or have to get overpaid to stay. Musa, Kurocs are unknowns, who while talented, aren't exactly more than role player ceiling guys. Allen is the one piece with some potential value...so thats one hot album every 5 or so players, my guy...with some probably low tier picks.
Again I think it makes sense for the owner, to cut cost, collect space and assets..but lets not put lipstick on a pig ok?

Lol at the bolded.
First of all, why does All Star voting matter at all? I assume you're talking about the player vote, rather than the fan vote (where Dinwiddie was not top 10). Derrick Rose was above him btw. Dinwiddie is a good player who I'd be happy to have on my team, but you've gotta use a better argument than that if you want any credibility whatsoever.
Second, you'd think that after using the All Star vote to defend Dinwiddie, you'd logically use that same metric to evaluate LeVert when you call him a "legit borderline all-star player". Yet LeVert finished 27th in the player vote for Eastern Conference front court (and worse in the fan vote). The only way he's a borderline All Star is if they expand the rosters to 50 players. I actually like LeVert but this is just some absolutely crazy mental gymnastics.
Allen is a solid young player, but he's entering the last year of his rookie deal and is in that awkward range where you're not thrilled about giving him a huge deal. He has value, but it's not a tremendous amount.

Re: Fixing the Mess Pt. 2 Sixers Offseason
My guess is we offered a package centered on Tobi and fillers (picks, Jrich maybe Thybulle or Milton) so Nets offered a package on that range with the Dinwiddie, Levert and picks package.
Like I said, we can just press a button to end it with a trade centered on Ben. But that’s when push comes into pull. You can’t offer your best card to start the negotiation.
Either that or Fertita doesnt want to deal with Morey. Which I doubt given Morey has been a good soldier for him by defending Fertita many times.
Or.. we choose Ben over Harden part 3 (over Kawhi and Jimmy) again. Hahaha
If you were to ask me a tobi centered deal with like Jrich, Thybulle or Milton and picks is very close to what the Nets are offering. Only a biased fan can see the major difference.

The good thing about this rumor about the nets is..
That’s the best offer out there for Harden?

It shows that maybe, just maybe, he has some sway in which team he goes to. If this is accurate then I truly believe our package will win out over the Nets, even without Ben.

Morey has been a really good soldier for Fertita FWIW. I believe both have a good relationship, better than what most fans would love to speculate.
I feel like there are a lot of times Morey could just let Fertita get crucified by the media but Morey would go out and defend him. Just from what i read and not like i know anything personal about those two

If Harden goes to the Nets, has there ever been a team with 3 bonifide nutcases on it (Durant, Irving, Harden)?
And all 3 of them are ball-dominant, really intruiged to see that work.

I'd say KD is the least ball dominant of the three and the best offball. He played with Steph and Klay. Think he'd be able to make it work. Kyrie and Harden are the problem.

I'll be paying close attention to that situation. I'd expect he'll have plenty of suitors, but we may be able to offer the best role/fit for a playoff contender.TTP wrote:I'd think Morey would be interested in Danny Green.
