Russ never played with a big as skilled as vuc, could be a great pick and roll duo

True, Westbrook and Vuc fit well on theory, Russ will destroy defenses and provide assists for Vuc to score in a variety of easy ways around the paint, BUT...just think about what would our perimeter offense look like with non-shooters like Fultz, Russ, Iwundu, Aminu, AG and on and off unreliable guards like TRoss and the French croissant. Not a good future perspective.

If the price to acquire was comparable, you have to put CP3 back in the mix too. He's a far better shooter and less reliant on his athleticism than Russ. He's also got one less year on his equally huge deal. He did very well in OKC and, again, could play very well with Vuc, IMO. I secretly believe that he alone resurrected Schroeder and may have inflated SGA as well. Good players look great with a leader like CP3. Only huge ego guys like Blake bristle about CP3 holding everyone accountable. There would be no power struggle here...only concern I'd have would be CP3's level of enthusiasm for another salvage operation...he may feel he earned his right to contend with his hard humble work last year on OKC.

I'd be down for either but CP3 would constitute less risk than Russ, IMO.

I think if the doctors are concerned about anything they would have told me, but I’ve heard nothing but good news since I left the bubble,” Bamba told Roy Parry of the Orlando Sentinel.

Late Augsut.
It's middle of November.

This is just another pure exucse for drafting player that is incapable of being in basketball - playing shape for whatever reason.
Guy had stress fracture by averaging 18 min a game. Let's get serious. This excuses are getting laughable. Corona ? I have 93 years old grandmom's friend that had corona and now is back at chopping woods. And i'm not even kidding. Get a **** out with corona and 22 years old having lasting impact .

Seems like Weltmann is on the hot seat and is starting to make some inadequate excuses. More and more, picking Bamba is beginning to look like a draft failure. And now, Weltman starting to give excuses for Bamba is just preparing the fanbase for another lackluster season performance by Mo. It almost seems like the FO is giving up on him. At this point I hope for him to wake up and start showing us something, but in reality I expect weak play and FO looking for options to get rid of him sooner rather than later, perhaps before we have to re-up him.

Just made it through half of Weltman's video interview.
Ooh boy, I'm not hating on the guy but he is fully capable of ruining any kind of enthusiasm or hopes for changes in a record-breaking time.
Is it just me, or am I going nuts?!!?!?! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Weltman is a veteran gm.

He literally throws these press conferences as formalities to the media but the guy would never divulge anything.

Welp, CP3 just got traded to Phoenix, so much for that.

OKC is the opposite of our team. They were an actually good team in a competitive conference who weren't satisfied with mediocrity and decided to blow it up for picks.

Looks like a fair trade for both teams. OKC is really going to be a major major player in the upcoming drafts for the foreseeable future. They could easily dictate how draft trades are shaping with more than 10 additional picks in the next years.
I hope they intend to unload some 1st rounders at some point and Magic tries to snatch one away via trade.

OKC is just such a well run organization. A year ago, they would not have gotten that kind of value for Paul. In fact, they might've had to attach a pick just to move off him. Instead, they hold onto him, Paul has a bounceback healthy season leading OKC to a top 5 seed in the west, && with one less year on his contract they are able to move him to a young up-and-coming team for depth and a first-rounder.

Presti is a first-class GM and the exact type of person you want running a small market franchise like OKC. We need to keep looking for that kind of person to run ours.

I know they have multiple picks, but 16 1st rounders... come oooonn, it's getting ridiculous.
I wonder, at what point in time or how many more picks they should acquire before the league officials step in and say to Presti "enough is enough". It's getting crazier and crazier.

That is a lot better than I thought OKC could do for moving off Paul's salary. That draft pick will have a lot of value.

Will be curious to watch them build this team out around SGA. They have a lot of picks to go get guys that want to be moved.

I guess it’s obvious at this point, but Bamba just isn’t going to work out in Orlando.

And they're about to tank in the best season possible for a loaded 2021 draft that features Cade Cunningham, who will be playing college ball in their own state.

Do you think that stems from ownership? I feel like we’ve had the same conservative philosophy through several different GMs.
