nope, when we signed him, my sig on this board was "ON THE CHRISTIAN WOOD BANDWAGON" or something. I'm not surprised an athletic floor running 6'11 big man became successful

Let's say we select Edwards at 3 and Wood is an option. Do we look to utilize the cap space this early and lock in an ideal 5 that is just entering his prime at 25? By doing this, we likely miss out on a top-10 draft pick in a LOADED draft class in '21.

On the flip side, we essentially get a modern-day 5 that can grow with our young core. Downside, his defense and his frame are concerns.

Graham
Edwards
Bridges
PJ
Wood

Would this be enough to be better than that 6-8 seed in the East?

KOC definitely believes in Wood...

Not me. I have a borning but interesting story about Christian Wood. I was actually a big fan of us drafting him out of college. (he was one of those 2nd round guys I often advocate for lol) We didn't but right before Cho left he signed Christian Wood so I often wondered if he did so because I mentioned his name quite a bit on the boards lol. He signed him like a few days later. Christian was one of the first players that got me intrigued about the 2nd round. I always have been but not as much as now.

I think the NBA should have returned with a Holiday tournament featuring the teams like the HORNETS Bulls, Knicks Warriors etc... Who didn't make their bubble, with a holiday tournament that resulted in the championship game being played on Christmas Day. Or actually having all star weekend on Christmas week. Then they could have given the fans something to watch and given other players time off like the Lebrons etc... I wanted their season to begin right after March Madness so we could have non stop basketball. I wanted them to play from April to September. Then we could have their summer league in October, and have college basketball in November - March.

Word is Hayward wants to opt out and sign a long term contract.

Thoughts on a 4 year 100 mil deal?

He smells like Chandler Parsons right now. I would offer him a 2 year deal MAX right now.

I like him, but he doesn’t really have much upside at this point. Good defender, good athlete, solid open shooter...

Seems like kind of guy who has wayyyy more value for a playoff team then a rebuilding team.

He's a great fit for either PHX or to stay in DEN. Perfect 4th/5th guy.

Hes still kind of young and almost a vet that would be serviceable im modern day lineups, while keeping Washington and Bridges on the floor at the same time.

I wanted him the year we got PJ and think he would've been the selection had Utah not taken him. Always been a fan of his game, but not sure how much he moves the needle from Bridges.... and Miles is cheaper.

Actually think he could be a good get for us. All depends on how much money he is wanting though.

I would offer either a 1/10 mil or 2/16 mil to him because he is type of player that if he works out we could trade him to a contender for an asset later down the road.

He went like a pick or two before we drafted and was bummed we were left with PJ. Hairston ended up starting for us just due to no one else being available. Hood isn't a world beater but dude is a rotational NBA guy. Might have been enough to push one of those Kemba teams to the second round.

Hmm.

- If we don't get Wiseman or OO, Wood would be interesting for sure.
- I'd say toss an offer sheet at Ingram, but nobody thinks that New Orleans won't match, so why bother
- Josh Jackson, Giles, and Dunn are former high picks that could use a change of scenery
- Hood is a guy I've always liked and wanted here, but not sure how he makes sense financially with a younger and cheaper Bridges here. If Bridges is going to get moved in the next year, I'd say Hood moves up as a priority since he would be a great fit at the 3.

I really think it all depends on how the draft goes with prospects, trades and assets moving forward. Is the front office cool with one more year of what we have with our minds set on the 2021 offseason as our time to make the serious turn or do we dip our toes in now.

So, what does the opening day rotation look like as of now?

I like Ball coming off the bench at first so they don't try to bring him along too quickly and I want to see him play with Monk as much as possible. I like Ball's fit with Graham as well, but I think I want Rozier to start even though I dont like his game or the way he fits with any of the other guards because he is a veteran who put up stats and I want us to showcase him for a deadline trade. I especially don't like Monk and Rozier playing together.

Graham/Monk/Riller
Rozier/Ball/Bacon
Miles/Martin (the good one, I seriously still have no idea which is which)
PJ/Batum
Cody/Carey

I really don't want to see Batum or Willy play another minute for this team, so it seems they still need more frontcourt depth. There are some decent options that could be available at 32 (Tillman/Carey) and Atlanta also has way too many centers (Capela or Dedmon could be good here depending on what we're looking for).

Edit: Updated for Vernon Carey and Riller. I think Richards will be G-League for a while. Still need frontcourt depth imo.
