Wow, this is a bit surprising. I guess it means that the new management sees some value in Denzel. Whether or not that is as part of this team or for another move down the road remains to be seen. But, this tells us at least that they don't want to lose him for the proverbial bag of chips.

Interesting. Honestly, I've looked at him as such a waste of roster space for the past 3 seasons, but on the other hand... he shoots the spot-up 3P incredibly well, passes the ball very well, and has respectable handles, rebounding and floaters. He is in the end, an Artunas type (skills > defense & health).
IMHO, the (losing) Bulls have looked better with Denzel at SG (than Zach). I wouldn't read too much into it, but I do prefer when the ball moves.
I do think that we will move away from psycho-effort Boyball and enable the injury-prone guys to play a "lighter" game (main beneficiaries: Lauri, Denzel, Otto). More passes, less heroics, perhaps the same net result (or better).

No one is giving you the #1 pick for LaVine. You just said he wasn’t max worthy so you see why teams don’t want to overpay for him
lavine and porter ? lol
what do you think gete it done fairly for both teams ?
There probably isn't a way without including #4.
Wolves might like Lavine + Lauri, but as in all situations it comes down to money. They can't max KAT, max D'Lo, pay Lauri $20M+ and then max LaVine in 2 years. They'll be deep into the luxury tax for a team that isn't winning titles, in Minny.
And then of course they would have one of the worst defenses of all-time, hahaha.
no way lauri plus lavine maybe lavine plus a first in 2022 protected of course

currently fantasizing about a scenario in which harden forces his way to philly, and we horn our way in to get ben simmons in exchange for providing the broke-ass rockets some salary relief

Re: NBA Trade Thread #2
I agree that MIN doesn't do a #1 for Zach trade. The FRP has that 4y cushion of cheap salary. Zach has 2y of a hefty salary that will jump, and he has zero ASG and playoff resume, so it'd just be a miserable move for MIN. Their new FO isn't interested in getting in another treadmill hole.
I'm willing to be surprised, but in end, I've just got a strong vibe that Lauri, Zach and Otto (even Wendell) can all build their trade values after a short season with Donovan (even after a 1 month). I just don't see dramatic trades involving these guys.
I can see #4 and other assets being shuffled to get a more desired player in the draft. Perhaps Thad or Sato.

Re: NBA Trade Thread #2
You could build the team through the draft and around Lavine, or you could acquire a star and lure other stars through FA (see Nets). I personally would prefer #2.
That said, I would jump on Harden if he indeed wants out, but Nets and Sixers seem to atop his list.
Still I would make an attempt with something like:
To Bulls
Harden
To Rockets
Sato, Thad, Tim Hardaway jr, Bulls 2020 #4, Bulls 2022 and 2024 unprotected FRP, Mavs 2020 #18, and Mavs 2022 protected FRP
To Mavs
Lavine
Bulls could roll with Colby/Harden/Otto/Lauri/Wendell in 2021 with some MLEs and vets.
Let's see what we get out of Colby/Lauri/WCJ on a winning team. If they underperform I would trade them or get their contract off the books next off season and make room for 2 max level FAs - does Giannis, Kawhi, PG13 or Gobert sound interesting?

The Chris Paul to PHO trade isn't a great example but something to watch are how do trades affect a team's depth chart. If a team with a low or no FRP makes a trade and opens a hole at PF for example they could become interested in Thad Young, or if a team is thin at the SF but looks to be drafting one Otto Porter could be good one year stop gap. The same could apply to a team with a short term interest in a PG like Satoransky.

IMO Hornets at #3.
GSW already had their test with low-calorie high-scoring with Russell.

- I think we're in the mix to either enter as a 3rd team on a Jrue Holiday trade or we might be kicking the tires on Rubio just in case something wild happens in the draft.
- I think the Williams talk is probably trying to get the Pistons or the Spurs (teams that allegedly like him) to bite on a trade down. Which brings me to
- I think the Kira love is real. But I don't think we're looking to draft him at #4.
I'm still maintaining my guess that our board has Ball and Hali as our 1st and 2nd options, respectively. I have some hope of Hayes as a dark horse, but I'm coming to terms that it's just not meant to be.
Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.

I am totally cool with keeping Denzel, for all the reasons you just said. I think he's an excellent bench player. He can play guard or sf and has skills as a distributor. Plus the very good 3P. I'm glad we're keeping him and I hope he accepts the offer.
