Just remember - they have zero say in what team they are drafted by, and then the league sets up contracts so you only make the most money by re-signing. Seems like a function of the rules. If we don't like this happening, we might have to be willing to part with the draft.

No one knows what Dallas is up too because they dont leak anything right now according to Townsend. Stein and MacMahon got nothing too and this are the only three you need to pay attention to regarding the Mavs

Not saying it isn't the smart thing for them to do, and in Buddy's case he probably assumed he'd be starting, but if you sign a hundred million dollar deal with a team and then ask for a trade before it even starts it makes me question your character a bit. :dontknow: Obviously there needs to be a balance between the players' ability to control where they play and the teams' ability to keep their players, I just dislike this particular type of situation.

I've never heard of this source either and beyond that the article says nothing about the Mavs wanting Hield or the Kings wanting to trade him there. Just that Hield dislikes Sacramento (which we already knew) and likes Dallas. Not sure this even qualifies as a rumor honestly, let alone something that's actually happening.

Yeah I hear what you mean. I think it's a bad look for the league as well - something teams and players both get frustrated by. I hope they can figure out a better solution.

The player can take slightly less money and sign wherever they want. This is a contract bonus that was negotiated and approved by the NBAPA. Instead, these players want to maximize their money then screw their employer.

Skill wise its a good fit, but personality wise, Buddy Hield will get jealous if someone else is getting paid more or getting more shots than he does. Heild is a locker room cancer in the making.

And I'll pass on Buddy Hield. The Mavs already have one overpaid SG who thinks he's better than he is.

Then we may as well reduce the league or put every team in the 5 major cities.

Right because Manchester and Liverpool are the largest cities in England?

Pretty sure Dallas isn't gonna commit their cap space anywhere until Giannis and some of the other big fish in next years FA class make decisions. I expect Dallas to look for a 3rd banana that has an expiring contract, or someone on a very tradable deal for next year.

Oladipo, Hayward, Aldridge, Derozan, Adams, Dinwiddie are all guys I imagine they'd target. Not Buddy Hield and his overpaid, grumpy a$$

He's sniper who can keep defenses honest and scores on enough volume to be a good 3rd option behind Luka and KP and can fill in as a second option when either of them miss time makes sense. He's young enough to grow with them too.
