Apparently, ownership had just given Elton Brand an extension; he's under contract for 3 years & will remain with the team. Reporting to Morey, obviously.
Might leave open the possibility of buying a R2 pick....

Is anybody NOT rumored to be interested in Russell Westbrook at this point?

If I were Charlotte, I'd make the deal. Westbrook for Zeller and Batum, who says no? Houston's owner is broke, so if he can get two expirings and a pick out of it, he'd probably do the deal. Figure out how to play Westbrook, Rozier and Graham together but at least you got something. Who's going to Charlotte anyway?
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

I'd forgotten about that Rozier contract, thanks for the chuckle. But yeah, Charlotte doesn't have many options. At least this way they get some star power, and Westbrook alone can get them to the playoffs in the East. If they can also move Rozier for an overpaid big just to balance the roster, even better.

Unreal! They turned Paul George into SGA, Gallinari, 5 1st round picks, and 2 pick swaps. And then they turned Westbrook into 3 first round picks, 2 pick swaps, Oubre and Rubio.
So they "blew up" a not-so-good 49-win team and came away with Rubio, SGA, Oubre, Gallinari, 8 first round picks and 4 pick swaps! Oh, and in the process of blowing up the team, they actually improved by 1 win (on pace for 50 wins last year).
They also took Melo's horrific contract, attached a pick to it, and turned it into Schroder and cap savings. They then turned Schroder into Danny Green and a first round pick. Effectively, they saved about $15M, got the better player, and broke even on picks in the process.

That reminds me of when Olympian Michael Bates was called a master sprinter.

It will be a very interesting off-season. Paul getting dealt - in a deal that could be a win for both teams. Schroder soon to be moved. Harden apparently requesting a trade and Westbrook pretty obviously on the trading block.

So, with all those picks in hand, what are the chances Presti ever manages to draft a group as good as Durant, Westbrook, Harden and Ibaka?
Relatively slim I'd say, that group should have won a championship.
I wonder how often he wakes up at night cursing Perkins.

didn't have a low post scorer when teams had a chance to study your plays. Half court basketball, need a utility big that can do everything, whether that be lebron, d. Green, or scotty pippen, robert horry, p. gasol, or K.Garnett, bosh.
Build your team with five shooters using Paul Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time. before rising into shot. Elbow not pointing to the ground! } Avdija=young Paul Pierce

Kind of a reminder of how we got nothing for two NBA starting small forwards that we took the time to develop. And Shepard was the second man in the room for those decisions.
Doesn’t lend any confidence...

And this Harden situation is not making me feel any better about Beal.
Harden essentially handicaps the Rockets negotiating power by demanding a trade to Brooklyn. I wonder if Beal does the same.

Harden is under contract for 2 more years. I would tell him to pound sand before I agreed to trading him for 50 cents on the dollar.
