Teams love giving the Lakers good players in return for next to nothing.

Danny Green is better than Dennis Schroder, unless Green has suddenly fallen off a cliff and I didn't notice. Maybe the Lakers anticipate Rondo leaving and need another ballhandler?

Are you referring to this?

from Basketball Reference wrote: RefJuly 6, 2019: As part of a 3-team trade, traded by the New Orleans Pelicans to the Los Angeles Lakers; the Los Angeles Lakers traded Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, De'Andre Hunter, Brandon Ingram, cash, a 2021 1st round draft pick, a 2023 1st round draft pick and a 2024 1st round draft pick to the New Orleans Pelicans; the Los Angeles Lakers traded Isaac Bonga, Jemerrio Jones, Moritz Wagner and a 2022 2nd round draft pick to the Washington Wizards; and the Washington Wizards traded cash to the New Orleans Pelicans. (9-30 protected, unprotected in 2022) (2023 first-round pick is right to swap with LAL.) (NOP have the option to defer 2024 first-round pick to 2025.) $1MM $1.1MM

All for a player who would have walked at the end of the season.

I just saw this...

https://tradenba.com/trades/WVAXmflm0

Again, great trade for both teams. This is right draft to have multiple picks. IMO, too many Cs fans are convinced that mid-1st to end of 2nd round picks are all but worthless. Nonsense. If a GM of a non-destination market team is unable or unwilling to trust the draft along with finding sleeper UFAs, then replace him with his polar opposite.

Shot 33% 3 in playoffs and in 20% range in wcf and finals. Under 70% ft for season and playoffs.

Quick guards routinely cooked him, but will need to replace his wing defense and defensive rebounding.

He was ok, shot worse than expected... and ultimately did nothing to make himself untouchable.

Looks like Giannis is eager to go to MiAmi after this season. If Harden to BKN pushes through, the east would be really tough to crack by then.

Nets got Bruce Brown for basically nothing. I always liked him. Sort of a budget Marcus Smart.

Just so you know, Caris Levert and his sub 50% true shooting percentage is a borderline all star guys.

Nets fans talk about him like Celtics fans recall Shane Larkin.

Looks like Harden most likely going to the Nets. I’ve read he turned down his extension worth 50M per year.
Kyrie, harden, harris, Kd and DeAndre. That would be an insane starting 5, minus any injury of course.

For this to happen, the brand-new GM of the Rockets would have to say 'yes' to the poo poo platter that the Nets can offer. I'm pretty sure his goal is to make Fertitta happy, not Harden.

Portland gets Covington from the Rockets. Houston gets the #16 pick.

Pelicans trade Holiday to Bucks for Bledsoe, Hill, and three #1 picks, including the #24th.

That's a lot to give up for what I think is marginal improvement at best.

I'm relieved that Danny didn't dive in to that fetid pool.

Read somewhere that Ibaka is also interested in joining the Nets. Not sure if true though.
