He’s doing 4th level thinking. It’s so deep, not even he understands it. But basically it’s like Morey is doing the Obi Wan Kenobi thing to the Rockets front office since they have a player who doesn’t want to be there.

Yeah if Morey can use the force then by all means. I think the rockets are on the dark side though, and Ben is their Kylo Ren.

But since they have Annikan (who doesn’t want to be there), then we can give them our biggest piece of crap, so we give them Jar Jar Binks making 35 mill per year and throw in some Ewoks.

If Harden doesn’t want to be here, you definitely don’t include Ben in any package. Maybe they will shock us, but I can’t see this happening.

Shams said not too long ago that Houston isn’t interested in anything the Nets have, but if the Sixers offered Ben Simmons Houston would get serious. But right now the Sixers are not offering Simmons.

And there it is... We're not offering Ben yet. So either we have no interest, or are trying to play hardball. If it's the latter I think the Nets get Harden.

That is the sense I was getting when listening to Shams a few minutes ago.

He's basically saying Harden wants to be in Brooklyn with his 2 pals, and Houston simply won't be doing that trade without Kyrie or Durant in return.

And Philly isn't offering Simmons, and therefore there is no noise to be heard. He did say "yet" though haha.

I get the sense Houston will let this play out as long as they want until a team offers the package they are looking for, and Philly probably won't be that team since they don't want to trade Simmons for Harden. From what I am gathering.

Maybe some other team steps up and trades a young star and a package for Harden.

Like if Denver wanted to trade Jamaal Murray and MPJ to cash in on their bubble performances...thats a deal I could see Houston taking.

Denver runs Joker and Harden...

I just don't know if there is a trade out there that makes more sense than Harden for Simmons, for everyone involved.

Harden and Embiid does not win you a championship, it just doesn't. Harden may be better than Simmons, but he and Embiid are not enough and a deal would have to clear out another large sixers contract and bring back additional assets to get us near to Championship contention with just a big 2 in Harden and Embiid. People seem to want to pay Anthony Davis prices for Harden, and he isn't worth that. If you offer Simmons, the surrounding deal has to bring assets back other than Harden and clear one of our crappy contracts and not include a bunch of anything other than Furk and a max of two picks. We are paying Morey insane exec money to do better than a run of the mill GM/PBO would do.

If we don't offer Simmons, Nets can offer a better package. Plus, Harden wants to play there.

So yeah, we have to offer Simmons or forget about Harden.

Yeah if it doesn't happen now, maybe it does at the deadline if things don't pan out for us.

Harden, heild, jrich, harris, embiid isnt enough to compete for a title??

I just massively disagree.. that starting 5 compliments eachother on offense insanely well

We have already been over how defense is more scheme and effort, its been proven over n over

If they play just league average defense that is a title contender

**** this...

I'm not giving them Ben if KD and Harden are meeting up... This could be toxic if we get him, and Harden doesn't give the deal his blessing...

Nets might be contenders, or it could be the biggest **** show. I'm hoping for the latter but won't be suprirsed if it's the former.

What's the point if Harden doesnt' want to be here. Harden is good, but he's not Kawhi good...

I'm starting to believe this Nets talk is just trying to pry Ben from us.

I am convinced our offer still beats out Brooklyn without Ben on the table.

I think this is the biggest key as to why I'd be shocked if Morey pushes Ben in, in the first year of a five year deal no less, a deal for Harden. First, you don't know if Harden/Embiid is enough, and second, to wager Simmons on a healthy Embiid seems to not be his style. Embiid's health profile requires three stars, IMO.

It also makes me think Morey is going to move heaven and earth to get Harden without Ben. And I believe he knows he has time on his side because the Nets offer (unless they also reconfigure assets via 3rd and 4th teams) is crap and the Rockets have zero urgency to accept it.

Yeah, teams are dying to get worst contracts in the league and mid-tier assets. Thats way better than Nets offer.

You guys are high.

It's going to be Ben or they attempt to repair their relationship with him. All these other scenarios being suggested are just a hard no.
