That is the sense I was getting when listening to Shams a few minutes ago.

He's basically saying Harden wants to be in Brooklyn with his 2 pals, and Houston simply won't be doing that trade without Kyrie or Durant in return.

And Philly isn't offering Simmons, and therefore there is no noise to be heard. He did say "yet" though haha.

I get the sense Houston will let this play out as long as they want until a team offers the package they are looking for, and Philly probably won't be that team since they don't want to trade Simmons for Harden. From what I am gathering.

Maybe some other team steps up and trades a young star and a package for Harden.

Like if Denver wanted to trade Jamaal Murray and MPJ to cash in on their bubble performances...thats a deal I could see Houston taking.

Denver runs Joker and Harden...

I just don't know if there is a trade out there that makes more sense than Harden for Simmons, for everyone involved.

You dont offer Simmons from the beginning. You lowball them and let them see what they can get from other teams. If the best they can get is Levert, Allen etc then you offer Simmons for Harden+ .

Beyond that i wouldnt believe any rumour from anyone. A couple of days ago they said that Harden wanted to stay, now he only wants the Nets. Tomorrow something else. Teams and players try to get some leverage with these leaks and thats basically their only purpose (that is, if they are not entirely made up.)

If the the Nets are smart and the Rockets dumb they will try to trade Kyrie + for Harden. Otherwise i dont see Harden playing for the Nets.

What does this post mean from Harden? Looks like "cap" to me, which means "lie".

Is he having fun by slying posting that these stories are all a lie?

If the stories are a lie, then where are they coming from???...

The Nets package is garbage the more closely you look at it. LeVert, the centerpiece, is an inefficient volume chucker on a contract that can only be called net neutral. Dinwiddie is a nice player with 1 year left on his deal + a player option he's sure to decline and will then require an overpay to resign. He's basically worth the same as Josh Richardson in a deal. Allen is an okay big with 1 year left on his deal. Will also require an overpay to resign and his types are found in the bargain bin in free agency every year.

Contracts taken into consideration, the Nets offer is objectively bad. Ours is bad too without Simmons, but they are in the same ballpark.

Further to my last "cap" post.

I would not be surprised at all if Daryl Morey is orchestrating this entire media campaign to manipulate the Rockets. Harden would be on board if so.

Is there any chance they will offer Ben at some point?
Maybe Ben + Horford for Harden + Covington

If this is true in regards to Harden's demands on the Nets, I would absolutely call Charlotte, ask for #3, Miles Bridges, Terry Rozier, Nic Batum, and some other 1sts and see if Jordan bites. If so, Harden is a Hornet for the next 2 years lol and they can start over with cap space and young players.

Yep. Think about it. Tilman may hesitate to send Harden to Morey. Makes Tilman look even worse then before. Everyone abandoned him and now Morey stole his superstar to boot.

It becomes much easier to do it when Morey and the Sixers can be the white knight, swooping in and saving the Rockets from being muscled into taking a trash offer from the Nets. Plus it looks like Tilman didn't fold because he didn't send Harden where he wanted.

I don't think even he knows at this point. Sounds like Daryl is still figuring stuff out.

Yeah it sucks. But it also makes it more likely the Rockets are going to blow it up.

It means Harden and Westbrook are likely out the door shortly. Good for us if we want Harden. Unlikely they'll sit on him now.
