If Giannis stays then who gives a **** about late first-rounders. If he goes then this team is going to be in the gutter for years whether we have any picks or not.

We're never getting another player as good as him so you gotta swing for the fences here.

It really only makes sense if they know it includes a 5 year extension. Try it out for a year and then you resign or maybe have cap room in 21?

This is fantastic for the next year and our chances of keeping Giannis in my opinion. Holiday is a huge upgrade over Bledsoe and while Hill is a good regular season 2nd unit leader, he is 34 and doesn't make a difference in the playoffs. Holiday is a bona fide playoff performer. He's way better at running a team, better shooter and I think better defender than Bledsoe. The picks are going to hurt in the future potentially. Wondering now if we just nibble on the fringes now or make bigger changes with Brook or Middleton.

Also the timing of Holiday's deal aligns with Giannis which I think is important. If it doesn't work, they clear a lot off the books next year and can try again.

Three first rounders is a lot. If it means Giannis signs the dotted line this year, it's worth it, but if it's not going to push the needle that's dicey. Guess gotta see when these convey now...
