I like Jrue Holiday, but this is not the deal that puts them over the top for a 'chip, and they have nothing else left to trade.

Pelicans robbed them.

That's what I was thinking.....I love Jrue but I don't think he's the type of player that you literally throw every asset you have left at especially considering his injury history.

So you have Jrue, Middleton and Giannis. There's your big 3 better get it done now.

Of they don’t win this year Giannis is gone for sure. What road to improving the roster is left if they don’t win this year?

Every other main player on that team is over 30 and they have 0 picks left
n how do we know this isnt the mkve Giannis wanted before extending?

Because he has no incentive to extend now rather than later.

If he extends he’s just an idiot. Why would you extend before you even see what your team looks like this year?

Lopez is 32
Matthews is 34
Middleton is 29
Holiday is 30

You could argue all 4’s best season is behind them. On the bench only Divencenzo is young and slightly promising.

I don’t know. Even if the Bucks have a successful season I’d be hesitant if I was Giannis to sign up for 5 years when literally his entire current roster could be retired before his deal is up

greek wanted to see moves to continue improving, this is 1 of them...bledsoe has crap the bed 2 yrs now in the playoffs n is a terrible 3pt shooter, hill might have been the over pay not the picks...people way overrate future picks

Matthews won’t be back so Holiday and Middleton are in their primes at 29 and 30 and Lopez at 32 at center is still young. They kept Donte which is key. They still got room to make some more moves too.

He's way better man.
Bledsoe is so bad. Guy turns to absolute sh*t in the playoffs.

3 first rounders better?

Nopes. But Holiday is definitely a significant upgrade over Bledsoe.

This trade is much more about the fit upgrade than the talent upgrade. And on paper, it's a significantly better fit. I'm not so sure that's worth what the Bucks gave up either, but I'm definitely excited to see what Jrue can do in a top defense and offense.

Jrue is the best player in this deal no doubt but does he make them go over the top - initial reaction is no.

massive overpayment when it seems like this could get you an actual star than a role player.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.

If that happens, this becomes a hell of a trade for the Bucks. This will nullify any of the swaps and will reassure that the 1sts will just be in the 25-30 range. That isnt bad value if this happens. It becomes franchise crushing only if Giannis walks.

when you give up that many picks in so many drafts, the chances of things not going your way increase.

this has to lead to at least a finals appearance since it will be very difficult to add more pieces.

Jrue isn't a lot better than Bledsoe lol

go back to the last playoff run he had against por, bledsoe has NEVER had a series like that ever

Lol the high water mark isn't a guy's norm. That's an idealized version of Jrue that hasn't shown up since.

Hill was also an underrated piece for a Bucks bench that wasn't great overall.

Your kidding right Bledsoe was absolutely terrible these last two playoffs and hill can’t guard anyone anymore and was terrible this playoffs.

He wasn't the only one who was terrible

Jrue is a GREAT defender but this trade is still stupid. Trading both of your PGs and all your draft picks should get you a Beal calibre player. Not friggin Jrue on an expiring contract. Hill was actually a really good piece for them too.

The myth of Jrue having injury history is a fallacy. He's been healthy for years.

If Giannis re-signs, then this rules. If not, just up and move the franchise.

This was a great trade for the Bucks. It’s going to take pressure off of Giannis from having to be the only playmaker on the team. The East is going to be really fun to watch this season.
