Phila Tough wrote:Ben for Harden would be ridiculously short sighted and it wouldn't even make us favorites on the east. Harden only makes sense with Ben and Embiid still here. Tatum lit us up in the playoffs. Trading our best defensive player isn't going to help. Embiid needs to commit to staying in shape before we give up on Ben

TJ warren dropped 53 pts on Ben.

No, the reason we’re not trading Ben is mostly because we’d be overpaying for Harden with Ben relative to other teams are paying.

But if you ask me if I would trade Ben for Harden, in a vacuum, I’d say yes. The duo of Biid and Harden is just too good to pass up. You want a guy to defend Tatum? You can easily find a 3&D with your assets (picks, jrich, milton, tobi or al). Or just flatout invite them to outscore us against the league’s best ISO and league’s best post scorer.

I applaud the FO for trying their best to not acquire Harden without Ben.

I think Rox right now knows Sixers has the best offer with Ben.

Rox is bluffing the Sixers by this garbage package from the Nets. Vin is now reporting Celts are now being entertained. This is clearly a bluff.

Sixers is not calling the bluff and are offering non Ben packages. Which could mean trade assets received from any Al or Tobi trades.

Anyway, I really see Harden with the Sixers next season.

More likely:
Sixers trade Ben over Nets trading Kyrie
Sixers trade Ben over Nets having KD Kyrie and Harden

What is up in the air:
Sixers can construct a better package than what the Nets are offering right now.

The Sixers' main problem is too many bad contracts. I dont see how this is solved by getting another bad contract, assuming that Harden expects 50M/yr, especially for somebody with his defense. And while Embiid+Harden is solid, its far from a sure thing for even a finals appearance.

I hope the Sixers dont get scared of MIL and others who are making deals, and get worse long-term in their reaction.

Thybulle+Harris+Richardson + whatever picks they want.

Saves them money on the luxury tax as well

This is an easy NO for me.

The idea to get Harden is to play with a great young player like Simmons. Im not sure Harden would even want to come here if it meant Ben Simmons was getting traded.

Imagine declining LeBron or Curry for Ben because of such rigid thinking.

After what Holiday brought back in a trade people really think Houston isn't getting a king's ransom from Harden?

Like they just got 2 1sts for Cov guys

that's fine, still doesn't change the fact that simmons+ 2 o3 FRP is just a robbery.

The rockets aren't getting a better player than ben simmons for harden, period.
And if like you said houston values more the longterm draft picks than ben simmons, no problem, they should trade with the nets or wathever team and pray that they hit the jackpot in 5 o 6 years with those picks.

I think Harden will be a Sixer. It’s just a matter of how much we’re going not to overpay for Harden.

I think both Morey and the Rox amateur GM, just want to show their worth. Like the Rox amateur GM, wouldnt want to get bamboozled. While Morey wants to show that he can get Harden for less than what EB would give or what Rox would want.

Bring in a 3rd team if Houston prefers picks - Say send Ben to GSW for 2020 1st and Wolves 2021 1st and either Wiggens or Green.
Plus add pick 21 and as many 2nds as Rockets want.

Like Horford+21 is not enough for Cov, so you are basically saying that Simmons is a better asset than Harden with that offer

Ben is really good, but Ben has no shot at being truly elite and is already 24, he is the player he is, likely top15-25 the next 4-5 years, never good enough to lead a team

76ers' fans gotta realize that

At this point Houston has to trade him for any real value they can get. Levert,Allen and some late firsts are not real value but Simmons is real value. If they can get even more they should do it but keeping Harden doesnt do anything for them other than destroyineam chemistry and making sure that they are going to get even less.

has to? sorry what?

No man, and this is James Harden, they are never getting less than that, they are going to ask for the moon obviously

As i said they can try to keep him, its just that this is not helping them in any way. Especially after the Covington trade it is clear that they are in a rebuild mode. Ultimately, they will have to trade Harden to the team that makes the best offer, provided that there is some actual value in that package.

The real question is would Harden want to come to a team where the only star player is Joel Embiid who has a history of missing chunks of the season and being injured when it matters? Not a chance in hell.

Umm.. we have more than just Biid if we trade Ben for Harden. Tobi and Al are better than most team’s top 3 and 4 players.

You can run a squad of..

Harden
Thybulle
Josh Rich
Tobi
Al

And we know Morey can add more depth.

So he would rather come for just simmons who refuses to shoot the ball and can barely score in the halfcourt?

I am not a enormous Harden fan, but beggars can't be choosers. When's the last time the 76ers were in a position to acquire a former MVP (who had not already exited his prime)? You'd be crazy to not trade Simmons for Harden.

No why would he do that? The only way Harden is coming here is if he has 2 all-stars. Al and Tobias aren't bringing Harden here and definitely not Ben or Joel just on their own. Some people seriously overestimating the talent in this team.

LOL Get F'd. Does my avatar of Ben shooting 3's like a drunk at $170 million a year look like a "Simmons stan"

I'm the last Simmons stan around here. He is an underachiever who wastes his time trying to be a woke wannabe Lebron instead of seeing a psychologist. Absolute mental midget whose career is going to be wasted before he knows it.

When is the last time a 24 old nba star got traded for a 31 year old star? I dont think its ever happened.

A 31 y.o vet (and Harden is an old 31) asking to be traded should never return equal value in a trade. IF You trade Ben you do it for young stars like Greek Freak,Devin Booker. YOu dont do it for 31 y.o Harden who has flaws in his game.

Lebron,Steph would be the very few exceptions where you would consider it..

Harden probably doesnt want to come to Philadelphia without Ben Simmons. His main reason to want to play in Philly is probably to play with the Sixers best player Ben Simmons.
