I think the poll would look different if the Sacramento trade had happened first. I know I initially thought it was bad for the bucks because I didn’t foresee an way for additional moves.

Overpay. But it's **** or bust with Giannis. If this gets him to sign the supermax they instantly regain the value lost in trade on to the value of Giannis.

Jrue is also a very good fit.

Idk why so many people think the pelicans won this trade. The draft picks hurt but when you think about it the bucks will have a very good team for a long time so the draft picks will be high 20s. Even if everyone else on the team leaves or whatever, they will still have Giannis.

Good trade bucks.

I’m now afraid this will make the nets want to make a move and trade their entire line up for harden.

Essentially 5 first round picks was a steal?

How was that the highest bid for Jrue Holiday?

Most posters thought that #6 was OK value for Jrue. Some thought that Jrue + #13 could net even #1 from Minny. How is that a bad deal for Milwaukee without giving up a single premium asset? Bled and Hill are neutral value, #24 is not a huge asset either, the picks are too far (2024 and 2026) and we don't even know the protections.

If Horst has a handshake from Giannis "bring me Jrue and Bogdan and I will sign", Bucks get Jrue for peanuts. Bled, Hill and three 20ish picks are not a massive overpay. Also Bucks keep Holiday away from Boston. Hayward and #14 should have been on the table, which was better for New Orleans than Bled, Hill and #24. Ainge probably didn't want to part from future picks, Horst did and got a double win for himself. Kemba, Jrue, Brown, Tatum, Theis and Smart not happening is also a win for the Bucks.

Listening to Zachary Lowe the market for Jrue seemed to be 2 late first round picks and filler which he agreed wasn’t terribly great for the Pelicans. It seems like the Bucks overpaid by a pick, the pick swaps are whatever, I don’t expect the Pelicans to be that much better than the Bucks over the next 5 years, especially if they resign Giannis. Getting off of Bledsoe’s contract is huuuuge. The guy is completely useless in the playoffs. Unless Jrue forgets how to shoot just getting rid of Bledsoe is a big plus.

Not sure either team will regret this deal but bucks might have to move to Vancouver if freak walks anyway not having any draft capital left

Have we learned nothing from the 2013 Celtics-Nets trade?
James Harden is worth 5 picks, as much as I love him a fringe all star like Jrue Holiday is not.
Jrue isnt someome who can carry the offense when teams are building a wall to stop Giannis.
What if Giannis doesnt sign the extension in December and leaves?
As an experienced Nets fan you're talking about the worst experience as an NBA fan.

LOL this fool is the worst. At least raptors built their team the right way by drafting right and with great player development, making the right trades to put us over the top to win the ship. We didn't have to buy our championship by superstars leaving their home town to go to a big market for "endorsements" and other non basketball related reasons.

Our championship is 100x way sweeter than your bubble ship LMAO. Now go back to your basement where you came from.

one Raptors ring is worth so much more than a Laker ring. it was so much more exciting for the league.

lol don't worry we'll be back for more while your fan base dream of greek in tor fades n build right way? you had a once in a lifetime trade, i guess trading for Kawahi wasnt "buy" it huh? lol

i’m not a Raptors fan. i was a LeBron fan until he joined the Lakers. now i just want what’s interesting for the league. the Lakers winning a 17th or 18th ring is boring. i’d rather see the Clippers or Bucks or Nets. someone new. LeBrons Laker rings mean nothing.

and yes i agree he will probably win another one there. the Lakers win all the time. it’s not interesting at all.

Bledsoe made All Defense last year unlike Holiday. Theres not a big difference. And George Hill is really good too.

This doesn't really make them better. Sorry.

The all-defensive team is kind of a sham. i mean brook freaking lopez made it. alot of bucks made it cause statistically they had good D. Tons including durant have said this offseason Jrue is the best defender out there.

He is also better then Bledsoe offensively. George Hill has been on a pretty steep downward trajectory the last couple years. he is basically a spot up shooter at this point.

The problem with the deal for the bucks is its 2 pick swaps and 3 picks and Giannis will 100% leave them in free agency and those picks will be decent, maybe lotto, maybe top 6. But Jrue definitely makes them better.

Yes, if this convinces Giannis to sign a supermax. If Giannis opts in, this team is a guaranteed top-5 team in the NBA record-wise for the length of Giannis' contract (barring injury). So how much are five (in reality 3 because the pick swaps wouldn't trigger) picks in the 25-30 range really worth?

Agree with the poll, New Orleans came out well, and it works for Milwaukee too, but the upgrade isn't much, maybe money is good though.

I like Holiday, but he's not "significantly" better or even better in the areas of Bledsoe's weakness. Jrue is not an elite PG playmaker, he's more like Bledsoe as just a good guard playmaker, I actually have liked him in the secondary playmaker role more. Jrue is not a "great" or volume 3PT shooter, he's not bad, but not great, but he might maintain better consistency in the playoffs. Jrue is also or a at least has not been a specifically efficient player, around league average or a little below in TS%, turns it over a decent amount.

Some of the dissatisfaction with Bledsoe might still be a bit apparent in Holiday's game, I think it's a lot to give up for him as a marginal upgrade in the starting lineup, but it might have been needed for Milwaukee.

Jrue is much better than Bledsoe. Way tougher minded, taller, better defensively, and way more consistent/clutch offensively. Paired with the Bog trade and Bucks are for real. I'm not even a Bucks fan.

Like my above post, a lot of similar weaknesses between Holiday and Bledsoe (efficiency, volume outside shooting, primary playmaker /ball handler ability). I also have not seen Holiday as a saavy floor general and decision maker in terms of closing games, but if the comparison is Bledsoe, then he's certainly not worse, probably better.

Defensively, both are solid, I think Holiday's size advantage will make him a bit better in the Bucks system.

I think the possible main difference will be that I can trust Holiday to maintain a similar shooting and scoring in the playoffs while still giving me the defense. Bledsoe has shown that he is unable to do that as his shooting tanks in the post-season, so that can become a big difference.

Overal it's not necessarily a drastic upgrade, but it could be in the playoffs where Bledsoe seems to falter, but it remains to be seen with opposition game planning, but adding Bogdanovic also gives some additional help that wasn't present with the previous groups starters.

Reminds me of the early 00's Kings/Pacers/Pistons but with a bonafide MVP talent in Giannis.
