Wiseman is going to look good in a Hornets uniform. The big man haters will be served ample crow.

What is the longest pre-draft thread on this board for a guy NOT drafted by the team?
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I'd love to eat a big ole plate!

Agree with the above that we're taking whoever is left out of top 3.

Really thought there was a thick Wiseman smoke screen, but that sure is a lot of smoke.

I think he could be a elite rim running center who blocks shots, but is that how he sees himself?

I don’t think so. He doesn’t want to go to Wolves which I see why but I also get some Dwight vibes from him that he thinks he is a the man and will want his team to play a system like he is.

Got to love that be actively wants to play in Charlotte Vs prospects usually trying to do whatever they can to avoid playing in Charlotte.

Ehhh seems like he just wants to be in best position to be the best player on the team.

Refused workouts with Wolves because Towns, Golden State will relegate him to the McGee role. And lastly of course because Charlotte is his best option to make number 1 pick money.

That's a good point. I think he wants to be wherever he'll get the most opportunity which is certainly going to be Charlotte out of any of the top 3 teams. Plus, who the hell WANTS to go live in Minnesota unless you love the freezing cold?

Is it safe to assume that if we hear Wiseman announced as the number one pick that's the signal that Charlotte has traded up

I would assume if that is the case they will announce the trade before the draft. If you are going to pay to get the number 1 pick, don't you want them at least wearing your hat and fans being excited for the pick. I know Fultz deal happened the day before I believe and when he got selected he was wearing Sixers gear.

Yeah, since we'd be receiving a pick back there's no Stepien restriction even if we also sent out our 2021 first.

My gut was that *if* the trade-up rumors are/were real, we would've seen a trade by now. There was plenty of extra time to get the parameters of a deal figured out; but then, we know Kupchak is more likely than most GMs to abide by moratorium restrictions.

Plus, all the info coming out suggests Minnesota is eyeing Edwards; that could be BS but the smarter play would seemingly be to link yourself to Ball and/or Wiseman instead, if only for trade value.

A last second trade could happen, but likely only if Minnesota comes back to Charlotte saying they got a better offer. I doubt they wanna move past 3 though... so we'll see.

I really don't see why Miles wouldn't be enough. Maybe Miles + #32 if they really want to play hardball with us

Why? Wiseman might be the 8th best player in this draft, it's not like some scouts and talent evaluators don't have him outside their top 10. If this was a year like last year where it is Zion or AD or Luka or a potential franchise changer I could get behind this thought.

Not for a player that flat out could be very average. If we take him at 3 I will live with results because this draft could end up being a **** show, but can you imagine not having a pick next year because we traded our starting SF and that pick for a Center who is putting Cody Zeller numbers.

Don't see anyway possible a trade up could end up paying off.

Whether we don't want to give up more and whether we would have to give up more are different arguments.

I see no way Wolves accept Miles + 3. I'd rather have Wendell + 4 and that's the rumor for the 2nd pick.
