Yikes. Better win a championship in the next 2-3 years I guess. Completely unprotected 1st's when Giannis will be 30-32 years old is not.....ideal.

Jrue is only 30 but has an injury history. 2027 is a long time away.

You have to think (or at least hope) that Giannis specifically pointed to Jrue and said "get me him" for the Bucks to go all out like this.

Holiday also must see a long term future with Milwaukee and let it be known he's extending.

And David Griffin knew all about it and acted accordingly.

glenn wrote:Unprotected huh? Man. Well I guess if Giannis resigns and things fall apart in a few years you trade him for shiny new picks?

My worry is what assets are going to be there to keep the team afloat when dudes are all in their mid-thirties.

If they win a title next year, who cares about first rounders six years in the future? And if this trade convinced Giannis to sign, it's worth those picks alone to keep him. The interesting part is they have their first in three of the next four years, so they have ammo to add more pieces mid-season if needed.

I feel like Holiday has zero reason to promise the Bucks anything right now. Not that he won't resign but I doubt he committed to that.

This is all about Giannis and enticing Giannis to sign.

Holiday and Bogdanovic combined to score over 34 ppg last year

Pelicans' shooters averaged 1.25 points per shot (!) on Holiday's 723 assist opportunities

Bogdanovic hit over 40% of his 323 catch-and-shoot 3s, but only 29% of 118 off-the-dribble 3s.

They should make today a holiday in Milwaukee, unless it's already a Jrueish Holiday

Honestly. If Giannis leaves, I am taking a decade off as a fan. So I don't really care about picks.

This is excellent. Getting a few 2nds back will help add young, cheap talent this year. Was wondering why we couldn't have gotten a 2nd or two back that the Pels wouldn't even be using this year.
