Why do people think the Warriors will be a top 4 seed this year? Did people forget that this isn’t the 2016 roster?

20 teams will make the playoffs. There will be 1 game play in games.

bubble changes things.

Lakers are old, Den might not have its home court

Warriors goal probably make top 6.
They should be rested and players had a long recovery.

Major Warrior fan and homer. I wouldn’t bet high money they’ll be a top 4 seed. I think that they are more likely to be a top 4 Western Conference playoff team (one of the final 4) than a top 4 regular season team.

Most of the core beat the Rox, swept the Blazers and were in it with the Raps despite being out matched. Klay and Curry can get hot and steal games and just create a panic so strong that they can dictate series. The only reason that series was interesting was because those two getting hot combined with a cold spell from the opponents can quickly be a swing like teams aren’t used to. Try to out shoot them and things can get ugly. Right now they don’t have the defense to create the runs they used to, but renewed effort and some luck there can swing a game. The supporting cast after the top 3 has a lot to prove but besides LBJ and AD I’m not sure there’s a top 2 more dangerous in the league, especially if Klay returns to the level he was playing. And if Dray can come back now that he’s rested and motivated, him and Curry pick and roll has always been very effective. We’re not gonna replace KD but Wiggins should be better than Barnes since consistency is a similar issue but better ceiling and the defense can get back to top 10 that’s huge. Won’t get a KD replacement so biggest role we need to fill is get an Iguodala replacement ( why I thought Jrue should be a target, now if Smart is available this would be an ideal get) then that team is scary

Well, if they had the 2016 roster we'd think they would be a top 1 seed and win 73 games, so clearly people realize they don't have that roster when they say top 4 seed.

I think 4 seed i realistic for them if Klay can return close to the player he was.

Yeah they've really aged a lot since 4 -7 days ago or something when they won the NBA title.

I expecting Woj bomb very soon: "2nd pick, Wiggins, Looney, 2022 first for James Harden"

No, but Stephen Curry will be 32/33 coming off a season where he played only four games because of a broken hand.

Klay Thompson missed an entire season with an ACL tear.

Draymond "RealGM's top 10 player" Green got exposed as an overrated role player without an all-star team to cover for him.

Add in five years of extended playoff runs into the NBA Finals and their injuries (especially given Curry's injury history), and that's a lot of hard miles and wear and tear on those bodies in a short time.

The Warriors don't have the length and depth that allowed their perimeter players to play their switching, disruptive defense (in my opinion, the most underrated part of their dynasty run).

The Warriors also don't have the element of surprise (2014-15) or the sheer overwhelming offensive talent (2016-2019) that allowed them to dominate the NBA in an almost laughable fashion. The rest of the league now shoots 40-plus 3-pointers per game and many teams have caught up or surpassed them in talent. They have no interior size and could get overwhelmed on the boards.

I also find it amazing that some of the same people who were calling Andrew Wiggins a borderline bust in Minnesota now are giving him a halo effect now he is in Golden State. He's the same player he was in Minnesota, which seems to be an odd fit with how Golden State plays.

All I read here is the core got an entire year off to heal from 4 straight deep runs.

This was their 94/95 bulls seasons.

They’re about to reload for another stretch run. Even though I don’t like this goofy Wiggins hope they have.
Swinging for the fences.

They had a short season and a long break that matters for an older team. They were in the lottery the year before.

Warriors can make a play for PJ Tucker and/or Danuel House.

TPE + 2020 51st pick, GSW 2021 2nd round pick, GSW 2022 2nd round pick for PJ Tucker.

#2 on James Wiseman (or trade down with a rotation player returning, and sign a veteran minimum centre to run 15mpg and have Looney/ Dray closeout games)

+ Veteran minimum SG/ SF: Torrey Craig, Wesley Matthews, GR3

And suddenly their depth issues are solved.

They have Wiggins too, I mean he is not a world beater but still a good and athletic player.

FWIW Morey said in an interview a couple months ago that he thought the Warriors were going to be the best team in the West this year.

Remarkably, I think Steph Curry is underrated and people seem to forget what he did the last time he was the undisputed #1 of his team.

Because the Clippers **** themselves and the NBA needs a new "other team" to Lebron.

It’s hard to say at this point. First, we need to see how Klay comes back from his major injury. ACL tears have taken huge tolls on quite a few guards.

They have a lot of holes on the team, but we also need to see how they finish this offseason out.

They have so many questions about their health and construction of their team to automatically anoint them champions.

I'm a Warriors fan but I'm also realistic and it's true that they will struggle to make the playoffs. If Steph misses as many games as he has for the past three seasons, the Warriors are done. But if they manage to make it to the playoffs, which I give them < 50% to do so, they'll be one of the most feared teams to face in any series. Regardless of which seed they end up at.

They had Iguodala and Livingston when they went to the Finals in 2019. For some reason people keep ignoring that. Those players are not on this current roster.

LeBron figured them out 2016 and would have beat them without Durant 2017 and possibly 2018. LeBron had Love and Irving two players who were benched against the Pacers in the first round of the 2017 playoffs. The Warriors will lose in the second round I think this coming season, as of right now i'd say it's Lakers,Clippers,Suns at the top of the West.

They've already added Paschall (all rookie team) and Wiggins....legit 20 point a night SF and likely Wiseman or Lamelo Ball.

Anyway...as a Warrior fan I've not looked so forward to watching them stomp the league :)

Wiggins is not a legit 20 point a night SF

On this team with Steph and Klay drawing a large amount of attention? He absolutely will score 20 a game.

His career average is 19.7

I think theyre gonna have legit problems defending. And they cant afford Curry to miss games at all. I think Lakers/Nuggets/Clippers will be better but they think they have a good shot at being the 4th best. I dont see a great separation between them and the Blazers tho
