Report: Nets, Rockets Nearing James Harden Trade

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Nov 17, 2020 8:12 pm

According to a report from Anthony Puccio of Front Office Sports, the Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets are nearing a deal involving James Harden.

While the deal isn't "official", sources say the Nets and Rockets have a "verbal agreement."

Harden declined a two-year, $103 million extension with the Rockets.

I love Harden. But I also love Levert, Dinwiddie, Allen, Claxton and will be watching every game I can of the Rockets.

I honestly think it'll be a shh show. Too many soft egos, Kyrie and Harden both go want the ball in there hands...Already rumors that Kyrie doesn't want Harden there...I like the current Nets team.

Agreed with this, don't see how this would work.

Hopefully we're getting LeVert, Allen, and co. and not Kyrie. Much prefer the package deal over Kyrie.

Kyrie won't want to stay in Houston anyway. He can't be trusted at this point. He'll want out in 3 months.

Tillman Fertita is already shaping up to be one of the worst owners in the league

He’s giving Dolan a run for worst owner that’s for sure. He’s an idiot who spent over half his net worth to buy the rockets leaving him cash strapped to keep funding a championship caliber team. He also makes all his money on restaurants and casinos, so he’s looking for all ways to save costs. All the Rockets deals will involve expiring contracts and lots of picks, no way will Tillman take on long term deals. I’m shocked the Rockets even offered Harden a contract extension.

This is so mental, they have him for 2 more years guaranteed. They’re rushing for a bad trade. Lol

Here's hoping the pandemic forces him to sell the team and a better owner steps in

you're telling me Rockets cant get a better package? This is weak.. LeVert is young and injury prone, Dinwiddie is an expiring 6th man... Best asset in a trade for James Harden is Allen?

Wtf is going on

Teams with size will just grab the rebounds from the misses and score efficiently since nets will be fielding their front court with D league big men.

Lakers beat Nuggets and heat due to their deep front court rotation...

Teams going small might have been a tactic against the warriors of 2015-2017, but a good rebounding team that protects the paint is going to be key in being successful. You need scoring from outside and inside and capable defenders who secure the rebounds.

Don't forget the roster, who needs 12-15 players, we can have 8, and they good.

I like the Harden, KD, Irving lineup. It's like 3 guys taking their turn to go 1 on 1 and you can tell who will get the rock on the next possession for sure. They just need two former referees to dress up as the 4th and 5th starter because they will be standing on the sideline ball watching and scream when something happens anyway.

They still have Deandre Jordan.

Teams do this because they're afraid that other diva superstars will blacklist them in the future if they don't cater to their current players' every whim - even if they're hurting their own chances of longterm success by doing it.

Meanwhile, Harden hasn't even been traded yet and he's already talking about quitting on the Nets in two years if they don't win a ring.

I'm just curious when this insane ring-chasing bubble is finally going to pop. It's unsustainable. You can't run a functioning, competitive league like this. Teams need to have some level of certainty and the ability to plan for the future. This current business model is unfair to front offices and fanbases.
