Here was an article from him on the NYDN last year:

https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/nets/ny-sports-kyrie-irving-kevin-durant-20190610-73qdbrufjzfpxm5q43mgyoxlda-story.html

With just about three weeks until the beginning of free agency, this move is further proof that the Nets might already have somebody in mind — and it appears like that guy is Kyrie Irving. Sources tell the Daily News that the Brooklyn Nets are “frontrunners” to get Irving if he decides to leave Boston.

Said it well before on ND in comments.

Does it mean that he's going to opt in if traded to a team he likes and this trade is pending?

Exactly. The question is what is he traded for? I still like a package centered around Gobert for Hayward + Picks is a great starting point.

#19, 2021, 2023, 2025, 2027 1st unp with all the swaps in the middle, and then whatever non Kyrie/KD players Houston wants.

Will be interesting if BKN is made to eat Gordon.

And unlikely but very interesting to me whether OKC gets looped in with the HOU 1sts.

Man, I dont even see that as enough once I see it on paper. HOU can handle this as good as possible by playing really, really hard ball with BRK. If a deal is done this soon, it could be a sign that they are about to get the mother of all draft pick hauls.

I imagine that it means he wants to hold on to his leverage for as long as he can to see what possible options are out there--and that the Harden trade probably caused both sides to agree it makes more sense for both purposes to delay.

The question is... what would "working on" mean? What's there to actually "work" on? Make a decision.

There are about a billion reasons for that not to happen. I don't mind Hayward coming back, but I don't think most Jazz fans would want him - but especially not seeing our best player go to Boston twice in four years - not a chance. And they don't even surrender a high-level asset for him, just a bunch of dimes and quarters.

You are right, it doesn't give Utah a high level prospect back but it could be something like Hayward+14+Unprotected 2021/2023 and a pick swap in 2022.

I can't imagine he gets that much on the open market, but maybe an opt out S&T can get him a most of that & a long term commitment.

I think we can get better pretty easily, tbh.

I guess, if Denver would go for it and if Sacramento likes Harris next to Fox, I could see something like Harris, Barton for Hield, Bjelica with picks included from someone. Sacramento could go with Fox, Harris, Barton, Barnes, Bagley? Maybe even some S&T of Plumlee to SAC if they want him?

That expanded deal that you mentioned makes a little sense if the team can extract more picks. I doubt Monte does it if he only gets one pick though. It hurts the flexibility that he’s talked about. I love Bjelica next to Jokic for sure. Plumlee would be a no-go on the Kings.

I really like Harris+#22+’21 lotto-protected first for Buddy+#35+#52. It changes the Kings into a defensive team with Divincenzo and Harris, while getting draft assets. The Nuggets get a sharpshooter for the future.

I would be really happy with Harris and two firsts. No need to add Barton if it means we don't get an additional first.

You have Barton as negative value?

Give us more time to find a trade. Ainge to Gordon.

Gordon wants out.

I take RoCo 8 days of the week over him. AG has age over him, thats about it.

As a Blazer fan, I agree that RoCo has more value than Gordon and, overall, I'm happy we got him instead of AG. Particularly because RoCo is a fit at both the 3 and the 4.

That said, I think AG has higher upside on a new team. He's a natural 4, and the Magic have insisted on playing him at the 3 for years while surrounded by suspect shooting and average-at-best coaching. If some team puts AG at the 4, with at least 3 players who can shoot, and in a good system with veteran leadership, I could see AG adding a lot more value than RoCo.

But for the Blazers, RoCo just made more sense in terms of fit and guaranteed production.

Kemba doesn't have that value.

No, I just would prefer extra draft picks to Barton. I think if you add Barton you probably only get #22 in this draft as compensation and I'd like a future first as well.

You might be able to flip Barton for picks at a later time so I'm not totally against it, I just want as many assets as we can get.

His value is at an all time low right now. Max deal, poor playoff performance. Also not a ton of folks looking for PGs anymore. Five of them just got traded. Danny seems behind here.

Maybe NY into space? Small incentive?
