Donte will be 24 in 2 months and while he has made some improvements and is better defensively Bogdan is a much better fit offensively

And we clearly had to focus on O after what happened in the last two playoffs. Generally speaking trading D for O this offseason makes sense.

I also like DDV. I also think his 3% would've gone up a level, his form is very good, it will come. His IQ and motor was top notch (delete the bubble from memory). Unfortunately they had to give something back in this trade and all picks are gone. Too bad we had to overpay so much for Jrue, giving Sac one or two of those picks/swaps instead of DDV would've been great.

You can't have a basketball team without a player ending in -ic
We cheated the Gods of basketball with Ersan whose family roots are lost somewhere between the Golan Heights and Nur-Sultan but it's not the same thing and we knew it, even though he could tell the fortune and talk to the birds. A true Yugoslav on the team is like wearing a cross on a gold chain under a white singlet, you just have to have it

Ok so outside of lets say 2 guys getting drafted and maybe 1 or 2 guys being signed to the roster undrafted we need about 5 more guys give or take?

1 MLE
1 BAE
3 min deals

I know this has been talked about a lot but who can we truly expect at this point? This is fun. In the past I would assume we would butcher this but with Horst and Bud I am sure we will find suitable replacement + level guys

29% and 26% on catch-and-shoot 3's the last 2 seasons too. Jrue was 36% and 35%. That's a huge difference

And STILL below average. We gave up 3 firsts and 2 pick swaps for below average at the one skill that is paramount to spreading the floor for Giannis.

Yeah, I think it's an overpay but I'm just trying to identify the improvement. 1.08 points per possession ain't all that, but .78 points per possession is nauseatingly bad

Plus besides the fact the picks are still 5-7 years away for the most part you gotta kinda look at it as Giannis resigning at the cost of a first in the future which is totally worth it. I know that's not how the trade worked but that's how this team will have figured it in. Plus with this move and the move for Bogdanovic we have more spacing than ever before

I hope Bogdan brings some serbians and more turkish(he was loved by Fener fans) fans here. We can use more color.
I know Jokic is the most popular Serbian but I don't think that the Nuggets board is much alive in this forum so it could happen.

Good timing to have a regular season with 10 fewer games of wear-n-tear for the starters.

Gonna be a blast to see the Bucks and Nets going at each other in the conference finals for a few consecutive years while the Celtics, Raptors and Heat all have to watch from the sidelines. HA! :)

I like Bobby, but in this rare occasion, his tweet is inaccurate. We'll definitely be able to use some portion of the MLE, potentially all of it.

As noted above, Bogdanovic plays with patience on the interior which allows him to set up spot-up shooters for looks. In the B-Ball Index’s Passing Efficiency metric, Bogdanovic ranks in the 96th percentile. He also ranks in the 98th percentile for scoring gravity. As with his scoring, Bogdanovic is a good playmaker when he gets some kind of initial separation. He can make effective dump-off passes to spot-up shooters and he knows how to maximise the fear the defense has when he gets into the mid-range areas with a defender behind him.

I bet we bring back Henson. Remember when he hit just enough threes under Bud that we were able to trade him?

I don't consider Bogdan to be an all star or something but I feel more confident giving him the ball at the last possesion to get me a bucket than any player on our team, Giannis and Middleton included.

He'll give you a 30% shot, even without a play to get him open.
Better than most I guess.

That's the beauty of all this - everyone is a threat at the end of the game. They can't just say take away x,y,z. It's the whole damn alphabet.

A smart team will collapse on Giannis as per normal and then fan out immediately if the ball goes elsewhere or Giannis kicks it.
But yeah having another sniper gives you options for a play they didn't see coming. Couldn't quite do it with Korver because he didn't move very well and also had to sit him for long stretches, but Bogdan is young and will definitely finish games for us. Especially coming out of screens from the left he's as deadly as they come. Add Khris at the corner & Giannis at the other wing, can't keep your eyes off either of them, and Jrue with the ball in his hands ready to take anyone to the basket as soon as they even think of giving help, and yeah you have a bit of a problem trying to defend against that. Will give headaches even to the Spo/Stevens/Nurses of this world.

Key to everything? Giannis need to learn to pass over his head. That's all he needs to do when he's swarmed: pivot and turn to the basket, see where his players are and pick one, which is really not that hard for someone his size. Just look how Jokic does it when the defender gets too close, he puts the ball over his head and pivots to the basket by putting his right foot between the defenders legs which forces him to back up or risk getting his balls bruised. Instead, Giannis tends to turns his back to the basket (that's his guard instincts), then bends down and tries to eyeball his teammates with the corner of his eye with two defenders crowding him from behind. And his pivot foot stretched 5 feet behind him. How many times have you seen that scene? And it usually ends with the ball at the stands or Giannis having to lift his pivot foot and travelling. It's the downside of Giannis trained as a guard from a young age, he never learned some big man moves, and they are essential even if he has to use them at the 3pt line. Even Lebron and Luka do it.
