My guess is that we consolidate our seconds via trading back into the first for Joe (because we get sniped like dickheads mainly) for cap reasons.

as for "realistic" prospects around 21. I lowkey hate all of them lol.

Bane; cool name but has trex arms and thrived on be a grown ass man against boys. Can shoot tho.
Cole World; UNC was ass balls this year but he showed none of the pop athletically his HS tape showed.
Terry; He can shoot but tiny guards are hard to hide on defense.

I like Maxey and Hampton but neither should be on the board and the latter needs too much time to develop for our stupid timeline. But both don't lack the physical tools and can dribble...thats all I need right now lol.

Using it to get Horf off the books, or Tre Jones / Josh Green / Tyrell Terry

Curious but skeptical with: Cole Anthony, Grant Riller, Jalen Smith, Isaiah Joe, Theo Maledon

Indifferent with: Leandro Balmaro, Desmond Bane, any of the other smaller guards

I could see us trading 21, 34 and 36 to move up to 13 or 16 (Pelicans and Rockets, respectively) to get Nesmith if he's there. Both those teams are trying to rebuild with draft capital and might want more chances at hitting in this trash draft.

Isaiah Joe's effortless range, sneaky arsenal of moves and underrated team defending and playmaking make him someone I like a lot. & 90% at the ft line is always a good sign. He's more than an assisted spot up shooter like IQ, Joe was creating his shots off the dribble and screen actions quite frequently

Read on Twitter

His upside is underrated, and he's 6'5 with long arms. If he can get his body lean muscled out like Alex Caruso (6'5 186lbs) he could take it to another level.

6'4.5 with a 6'7.5 wingspan. Not bad, not incredible. 175lbs which is less than skinny guys like Markus Howard and Maledon.

I don't doubt that he can become a shooter at the next level, I just doubt he can do anything else.

His frame is definitely concerning. I'd say he's a project pick, just like Hampton is. Hampton has to corral/discover his.. skill, where as Isaiah Joe has to mature physically and prove that he can provide a return offensively that makes him worthwhile to keep on the floor. But he has deep NBA range from day 1, a workable handle and decent athleticism. He could have shot creator upside, with a solid floor as an elite floor spacer if he stagnates from this point on; that to me is worthy of a pick outside of the lottery in a mid draft.

Or maybe i've talked myself enough into this pick because I feel like it's inevitable lol

If Joe has a promise from the Sixers I would assume/hope it’s that he’s agreed to take a two way contract. I think that would make more sense in the context of it coming together before Morey got here.

Bodner had a nice point on his podcast yesterday about us trading seconds to get into the late first just because of the way the salary cap rules are structured. The guaranteed contract of firsts is different then seconds and with better second round prospects often getting more than the minimum that would eat into our mid level exception which we probably need more as our only means of signing a non vet minimum this off season.

I think Poku has to go top ten in this draft, right? Dude is an extremely fluid ballhandler at 7ft with a jumper. Not that he's Giannis, but I think people have learned their lesson since 2013, especially in a similarly terrible draft. I wouldn't be surprised if he went top 5 honestly.

idk if it makes sense to trade 34+36 for a late first considering that maybe they aren't willing to draft 3 rookies. So you either trade for future picks or sell

Or the other Anthony.... Bennett. Both seem lukewarm on the whole basketball thing.

I couldn't even fathom picking Anthony Edwards in the top five, possibly top ten of this draft.

I'd be a little concerned if Boston got James Wiseman. I know he's pretty polarizing as a prospect, but I see the potential of him being an absolute freak. No health issues, massive wingspan, promising shot, athletic.. I hate that he was robbed of a season and the sample size is so small, but put in the right situation, he could be a force.
