I've always looked at James as a SF and Davis a PF. In this era, they can each slide up a spot to PF and C, but that's not their bread and butter positions.
Yeah those two are tiny. It must be small ball LMAO

I’m scared of this from Edwards. He says he’s willing to Quit basketball tomorrow.
His eyelids are heavy, and his mind wanders. He says he stayed home and went to Georgia rather than a powerhouse like Duke or North Carolina in order to be closer to his newborn nephew. But later he says, "I'm ready to get out of Atlanta." (The Hawks hold the sixth pick in Wednesday's draft.) He says he doesn't think about being the first player taken. He'll be ready when the time comes, but "other than that, I don't even care."
"To be honest," he says, "I can't watch basketball."
He retells the story about the first time he dunked and how it signaled to him that he was talented and could accomplish something he might not have been able to in football, which was his first love. So that's the direction he went, simple as that, hanging up his cleats. "That's all I needed to see," he says.
So when after that did he get into basketball?
"I'm still not really into it," he says. "I love basketball, yeah. It's what I do."
He's not entirely convincing. He says if he were drafted by the NFL tomorrow, he'd let basketball go.
"Because you can do anything on the field," he explains. "You can spike the ball. You can dance. You can do all type of disrespectful stuff." In the NBA, he says, "you can't do any of that. You'll get fined."
He goes on to say that he's an aspiring rapper

Aaaaand with that I've officially soured on all 3 top prospects. What an awful draft.
Really, really hope the rumors about trading down for two lotto picks is true. I think the best possible outcome is coming away with some combination of Obi Toppin, Okongwu, and/or Killian Hayes. Hell, I would rather draft Toppin first than any of these other 3 chuckleheads.

Are we really going to draft a guy #1 who doesn't have a passion for basketball? This sounds like Wiggins all over again. Wanted to like him but no f'ing way.
You really don't know in what context he said that in. Maybe he was mad for not being able to play. He's a sensitive kid. Get him around a professional family like his teammates to guide him and he'll be a monster. You can't teach what he has. He's a freak. No one is perfect in this draft so I'll take my chances with him.
I don't buy the Wiggins comp not one bit. Two very different people.

I think the key is perimeter players. Lebron is most definitely a perimeter player. Anthony Davis is a big but probably the best big in the past 10+ years and was a PG until a HS growth spurt. He has some nice perimeter skills as well.
Sounds sortof like the Giannis growth story. Also really like the Obi Toppin late growth story.
Towns is evolving with perimeter skills.
Wiseman by the way thinks he can be a Giannis type of player. (old quote)
Mobley, on the other hand, seems to be more accepting of the fact that he’s destined to be a five in the NBA while Wiseman, in the words of one NBA draftnik, “thinks he’s Gianniswhen in reality he’s a lot closer to Myles Turner.”

I would love to hear some rumours, but I kinda live that Gersson has kept his cards close to his chest and for the first time in a whole the #1 pick will not be known by every single person.
This bodes well for management in that;
1. Everyone is on the same page
2. No leaks because everyone has bought in
3. Because of 1&2 our draft plan is measured and we won't move from our plan.
The only main question I have is talent evaluation. Gee I would love it if we had a PJ Washington or Rui Hachimura on our team rather than Culver (I hope he still pans out)

Most likely LaMelo Ball, but Minnesota does not have any major leakers in the front office, so there is no way to know.

This is excellent.
The way it should be.
I believe in Rosas. But I also believed in Kahn.

It seems like the FO created smoke screen after smoke screen the last weeks. Apparantly we like every potential top 5 pick, we want to trade down, even out of the draft, want to stay put etc. I don't have the slightest idea, what will happen tonight.

I'll be pissed if we take Ball. Hopefully it's a trade down. Edwards was my guy but he's scared me off.

Take Ball and trade him at the deadline or summer if Beal becomes available, not that complicated. Edwards has no love for the game, Lillard was right.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Prospects: Thread III
I have to admit I'm excited and worried at the same time.
Part of me hopes we pick Wiseman and put him next to KAT, another part of me hopes in Edwards and he will become a points machine... and another part of me hopes for a favorable trade for us .... nice mess!

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Prospects: Thread III
It should be a big day for the future of the team. This offseason feels a lot like the 2017 offseason in that the Wolves are again well positioned to take a significant step forward as a franchise. Hopefully, Rosas turns out to be considerably more competent than Thibs was at assembling a winning roster.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
