Not to be underappreciated is that Bogdan will be fresh and to a lesser extent Jrue,

From the guys we shipped out to make these moves, only hill will be remembered for good reasons but I feel we got all we could out of him. Holiday has been good in the playoffs and bogdan dare I say, ala Dragic has been preparing for this his whole life. Assuming this team stays healthy, you have 5 guys that will make their presence felt. Watching the Raptors win, the heat finishing runners up, both these teams had at least 6 - 7 guys that played well for them. So assuming we stay healthy, this should be our best crack at the title. Bud offcourse remains questionable.

I think Bud should focus on playing his starters 38-42 per game to build up their stamina for the playoffs. I'd much rather play Giannis 40 minutes a game and then rest him on back to backs than limiting his minutes to 32 during the regular season, and then having him brick three throws late in playoff games because he's exhausted. This would also give Giannis a chance to learn how to stay out of foul trouble and conserve energy for the 4th quarter. If he knows he's only out there for only 32 minute, he'll usually go full tilt, which doesn't work for the playoffs.

No one in the league even averaged 36 mpg. So, your suggestion might be bad.

He’s also not a horrible defender though, right? Mediocre seems like the word.

a mediocre defender on a bad defending team. maybe we have the coaches who can hide his deficiencies.

The trade suggests that Sacramento thinks DVD is better. They didn't make the trade to acquire Ersan and DJ.

That's about the most simplistic view on a trade I've ever seen .

Our love for DDV was always peppered with a healthy dose of wishful thinking.
I'll still miss him though, I hope he does well.

Except he was damned productive last year. If the trend was linear from year 1 to 2 to 3, he'd be an all-star next year.

(no, I didn't predict he'd be an all-star next year. you can't expect a linear trend and he's going to a dysfunctional Kings team).

he will make atleast 2 all star games as a Buck

How many years is he signed for by the way? For some reason I can't find the info.

Bogdan is an absolute baller.

This guy off the bench will be very very productive. I'm arguing there is more value here than the faux-max player Middleton.

My love for DDV was peppered with a healthy dose of understanding of data, which strongly suggested he's really, really good.

Bogdan was acquired because Giannis wanted him. And to give Giannis credit, I'm relieved his buddy is Bogdan, and not JR Smith.

I really like him. His college years hid a really good player because Wyoming was so overmatched. Then he goes to Sacramento and plays for the worst development coach in the league in Walton. Just look at how much better Brandon Ingram looked under a different coach

Just watch one of James G league games. Everything is there. He can create offense for himself and others, space the floor, rebound and defend. He needs to continue to get stronger. He might not be in the rotation when the season begins, but he will be by seasons end.

Was DDV better than Bogdanovic?
Not a trick question, I've said pages ago I'm not a huge fan of Bogdan.

Yes, but the argument could be made that Bogdan will be better with the Bucks than he was with the Kings because he should get more catch and shoot jumpers. Bogdan is significantly better at those than off the dribble, where he struggles.

Bogdan > DDV but the kings value potential and cost more than the Bucks do atm. Trade worked out well for both teams.

I like white Donte and I think eventually he'll find a consistent outside shot to become a reliable rotation piece at guard. However im not convinced he'll ever have the handle or foot speed to be a starting pg.

I know that Bogdan would've been much more useful vs. the Heat. Being a proficient shooter is necessary for our guards in the playoffs. I really like DDV but we're not really in a position to sit around and see if he ever figures out how to shoot

You have a lot of trust in the Kings' talent evaluation.

The idea of Donte always seemed better than what we actually got. He is certainly a natural out there though, but him nose diving in the bubble def was not good for his stock.
