I can understand that. Personally, we had worse when we all had to root for Lebron and watch our boy Wade be 2nd fiddle

RexBoyWonder wrote:I do think Herro + Duncan + Nunn + multiple draft picks (probably 3) is a competitive offer. There are 2 factors working for us :

Yep. Coach Spo and Heat culture have been breeding 3pt specialists since forever. Going back all the way to 05 and 06 with Damon Jones, to Jason Kapono winning the 3pt contest with us, and James Jones, and on and on I'm sure I'm forgetting some guys. Robinson had a fairy tale season and next year his numbers will go down... we can develop another Robinson to hit 3s for us.

RexBoyWonder wrote:1) Harden has a "list" and we're on it. I doubt a team that isn't on it will be willing to sell the farm for him.

100%.

RexBoyWonder wrote:2) Not too many teams can offer a better package AND STILL think they're a true contender. a Rebuilding or a mediocre team won't have much use for a 31 YO old superstar if there's no one else next to him.

100%, that's what they oughta be thinking.

Long term, I think Nunn will be the better player out of Nunn, Herro, Robinson.

Robinson is going to get exposed next year for the raw talent that he is, as his Finals fame catches up with him and defenses lock in.

Duncan hasnt been a surprise to teams since the 2nd month of the season. Defenses already lock in on him. He still shot 40% from 3 on high volume in the playoffs and the times he struggles was mostly him passing up shots he took all season. Only way I think Duncan regresses is if his role in the offense changes as in we stop running plays for him and tell him to just spot up all game.

Duncan would be a great third in a trio, knows his role, elite at it and doesn't need a massive amount of touches to be effective

I believe Duncan is smart enough that he would actually get better.

Not as a shooter, but as a passer you could already see him making more complex reads, a bit of attacking the closer when they charge on his shot, his defense will get better too, maybe not by a ton but he will improve with more expirences.

He's a damn rook in many aspects, rooks get better with more mileage.

He's also quietly been an amazing finisher at the rim. 84% within 3 feet during the regular season and 90% within 3 feet during the playoffs. Obviously the volume is low but he has great touch and is very fundamentally sound already. With his size I think he'll definitely get better.

Read from 5Reasons twitter that Goran and Jae are verbally committing to a 1-year deal.

His ball handling is understated too. Of course I wouldn't want him dribbling a ton of times but from what I've seen from him in his time in the G-leauge and few times he's done it as a counter to being run off the line he's able to dribble into spots. If he develops that a lil more and the staff gives him the confidence to do it he's capable of being more than just a sharpshooter.

That's pretty wild. Jae must have really loved playing here. Wink wink promises. That's pretty good advertising for our team moving forward. Players willing to forego money to play here means a lot.

I think the bare minimum is to at least bring back last seasons team. The rest is positioning for a Whale whether its through trade or FA.

Possibly resigning our guys and adding a few pieces. Still in the Gallo sweepstakes if I'm not mistaken. Can also get Aaron Baynes too.

Then we draft the Next Herro/Bam hybrid.

His home is in Miami and if he's looking to continue making money after basketball with a/some local businesses building his brand in Miami before retirement makes a lot of long term sense.

Keeping Crowder and his ability to play multiple positions gives Miami a lot of flexibility in shaping the roster.

BTW, I expect Crowder to get paid a solid amount this contract or his next contract in Miami, they'll make sure he's happy long term if he takes less now.

Just wondering how connected is this Vin Fosh guy? (could be Bish for all we know?)

his twitter bio says "Pro Sports Insider. Disseminated enough random tweets to have Broke the Anthony Davis trade; Bryce Harper signing; Joe Girardi hiring; Josh Donaldson signing; Morey news; Chris Paul trade"

:dontknow:

He was right about CP3 to Phoenix. I believe he the first source I saw who reported it. Whether that was a one time fluke remains to be seen.

Does it? Miami has some solid sized contracts they can move... especially with a draft pick to upgrade the roster. DeRozen, Aldridge, and Oladipo all come to my mind quickly on possible trade candidates.

He was very valuable for us in the playoffs. His hot shooting really propelled us. Glad that he has found a bball home here. Surprised we found the money for him. I thought he'd be too expensive.

Waiting for a more credible source unless that's coming straight from Ethan.
