Draft Day Thread

Post#1 » by Inigo Montoya » Wed Nov 18, 2020 11:26 am

This is where we can discuss the draft as it unfolds pick by pick, trades, and everything else.

Let's hope for a good night for the Jazz.

So many players linked to the Jazz, and yet somehow I expect the Jazz to trade the pick......

#LockeWatch is unequivocal this year - the choice is Robert Woodard. Now lets see if we indeed pick him.

Here are some full games of his:

We just traded 23 for 27 and 38. I like this trade alot because there are a lot of solid talents at 38. I think this also leads more credence to the Woodard pick.

ESPN Sources: The New York Knicks are moving up in Wednesday’s NBA Draft, acquiring the Utah Jazz’s pick at No. 23 for the 27th and 38th picks tonight. Knicks are now picking at Nos. 8 and No. 23. https://es.pn/2UFLMad

Wow! This is a great trade. I love it. In such a crapshoot of a draft picking up another top 40 pick for drop of just 4 places is great. Nice. Now Woodard makes even more sense, since 23 seemed a bit too high for him.

On the other hand... isn't it a bit weird that NYK are doing that trade before the draft and before knowing whether the guy they want is going to be there? This seems like somewhat of an erratic move for them.

I just hope the guy you want isn't still available at #23. In my case, I hope Bane is gone by then. (or is still available at #27)

Knowing the Jazz, there is a good chance they'll trade the 38th pick for money. We may be bringing back Cash Considerations.

It's possible we dump Ed Davis with it.

BTW it seems like we included the draft rights of Ante Tomic in the trade. Wow! That's a truly an end of an era!

They might be trying to get better picks to package for some player...... For their sake, I hope it's not Westbrook.....

#LockeWatch

I like the trade down. Not sure there is a big difference between #23, #27, or #38.

What a dumb move by the Jazz. Tomic is about to blow up. He's the next Pau Gasol and he's coming to the NBA any season now. Epic fail. 8-)

I like the move, Woodard and USU’s Morrill.

PS on Andy Larsen’s last podcast, he and Eric Walden mentioned Udoka Azubuke as someone the Jazz have interest in. Tony Jones mentioned this interest as well on Twitter. Locke has some good things to say IIRC as well. My guess is that we’re going Woodard-Udoka.

Doubt it, how does making an asset worse make sense in a trade?

I made an Ante Tomic appreciation thread here:

You can let all your emotions and frustrations go in there... I know... it's tough to let go of such a legend... but it probably was about time...
