The way I read it and my guess, the Warriors throwing a lot of smoke hoping Char or Chi move up. Warriors do want Deni, but would prefer the cheaper salary spot and maybe pick up a few assets. Also maybe why the Knicks are not in much of a conversation since Deni is likely to be gone by #8

There is a rumor from multiple sources that has Poku with a promise to the Thunder. This was before they traded CP3 and got an extra pick but their earliest pick is 25

But I'll repeat what I've said other times, but obviously you are a visitor. Drafts can also be flat from even 6-20.
There's a benefit of being higher up for better shot at a tranche of players.
This obviously implies the FO and scouts have their act together and are actually targeting the better player.
Which doesn't always happen.

I mean... I love targeting specific players but not so sure about a draft range(especially when the range is so close to the one you already had). That's why I think it's weird this trade happened now, rather than during the draft when you would actually know for sure whether the guy(s) you target are there.

Main theory seems to be it's part of another trade or to move up. I don't know.

Knicks might like their odds better at 23 than 28 and didn't want the extra 2nd.

A thought: Aller knows some implication of saving a few $/flexibility of a UDFA over a 2nd rounder. I'm just wildly guessing.
