Re: Draft Day Thread
Woodard actually looks pretty decent, especially for a late first round pick...... And he fills a need for the Jazz......

Re: Draft Day Thread
It would be such a jazz move to make a good trade to add another pick and then draft a guy like Udoku who doesn't fit todays nba and can't hit a free throw to save his life. We need to be looking at Cassius Stanley, Nwora or Nate Hinton with that pick.

It may be an eventual Bradley/Davis replacement...which is very depressing when you consider the assets spent on backup C. The post Favors backup C search is turning into our post D-Will pg search.

Eventual bro eventual like 3-4 years when Rudy is not in his prime, guy is 7 ft with a 7 ft 7 in wingspan with elite athleticism and a shooting touch.
Ingles is cooked.

I don't think you have seen Udoka play. He has no shooting touch and he is not an elite athlete. He is a good athlete though.

Udoka shoots 40% from the line....he’s not a bad value at all, but it’s much better to double dip on two wings. You can’t count on either pick ending up as a rotation player (success rate is very low here). Might as well increase your chances of getting a player you need.

Just reading his scouting report he seems pretty elite for a big, 37” vertical is pretty good.

I don't believe that 37 inch vertical for a second. Watch him play and you see a guy that dunks a lot but it is because of his size rather than explosion off the ground.

It was reported on NBAdraft.net and it’s from the combine.

On the other hand... isn't it a bit weird that NYK are doing that trade before the draft and before knowing whether the guy they want is going to be there? This seems like somewhat of an erratic move for them.
They might be trying to get better picks to package for some player...... For their sake, I hope it's not Westbrook.....
Doubt it, how does making an asset worse make sense in a trade?
I meant that about the Knicks......

Ohhhh yeah I can see them trading 23 for Westbrook which would be a win for Houston.
Ingles is cooked.

FWIW I like Tyler Bey more than Woodard. He was just so much more productive across the board than Woodard. But let me tell you...we are not taking Bey over Woodard.

Locke watch about to be undefeated. I hope we draft Bolmaro at 28 and someone else at 38 (wouldn't mind Woodard if he slips there).

Re: Draft Day Thread
What could be the rational in trading #23 for lower picks? Is there another trade brewing and Jazz is collecting assets?

The draft is flat and a bit of a crapshoot anyways so getting two bites of the apple of similar quality instead of one is better value IMO.
Another possible reason might be that we are trying to dump Ed Davis and the second rounder might be a good way to do it.

I'm bummed that we won't be taking Bane. Fairly confident that he will be a good player.
