Utah has a deal lined up where they send out a 1st and they are getting extra value.

Conley and 27 for Tobias Harris works just fine.

But love it for the Jazz. In such a shallow draft two bites in that range are better than one.

I wouldn't say its shallow, seems just weak at the top.

Hope you don't mind, just edited the thread title for officialness/detail. If anyone's like me, you thought the Knicks moved up from #8 :D

I like this for the Knicks.

That Utah pick + Davis out for a later pick + incentive would of possibly tempted a few teams. Thinking of Bjelica. If the Knicks really like someone in that range they move up and keep other teams at bay.

Should be interesting to see who the Knicks select now.

I like it for the Knicks. I think it gives them better options should they want to move up. Utah is up against the cap so two players on rookie deals works for them.

Don't like doing it before knowing who is on the board at 23. Gives me nightmares of trading away Brandon Clarke.

More often than not, the team that moves up wins the trade. Good for the Knicks.

Tells me Utah doesn't have 'a guy', value is fine both ways. Not sure on reasoning why New York wouldn't want to wait, guess we'll see.

Jazz are happy. They could come away with Tyler Bey and Reggie Perry.

Lets see what the Knicks do with #23. Til then, the jury's out.

It's a win-win I think, since it meets both teams' needs, but it's going to be funny when whoever the Knicks were hoping to get ends up going at 22.

:-? Should have just taken Ed Davis’s deal to move up. The draft is real deep 20-40. Would love multiple picks at that range, hopefully they buy back in.

Agreed - except for the last sentence. I'm guessing NYK made the trade to set up something else.

This does seem like a better outcome for both--unless Utah feels comfortable Clarkson's market is going to be < MLE money and doesn't feel the need to shed salary.

Agreed - except for the last sentence. I'm guessing NK made the trade to set up something else.

Also agree. Knicks must be trying to move up more.
#8 + #23 = #4 ?

Maybe the Knicks also eat the Felico deal?

Knicks got to put something more than that in there I'd think.

Maybe the Knicks think they can get Cole Anthony at 23?

Seems even more likely we draft Woodard now which is fine with me, Jazz have drafted really well at 27 before :)
