The Warriors facilitating a trade that gets them Hayward and ships Harden out of the West seems to make sense for all parties involved.....

If the Nets do end up finding a way to trade for Harden, as much as I love the Celtics I'm gonna laugh my ass off.

All these years. All the dunking on Brooklyn for the Pierce/KG trade. All the draft picks. And in the end after we never even get a Finals trip out of it, they end up kicking our butt up and down the court with a team that has instant, real title aspirations. Would be something.

My dream trade scenario this offseason has been:

BOS receives Gobert
IND receives Hayward
UTAH receives Myles Turner, Jeremy Lamb, #14 tonight & another future first.

We get the center upgrade we need, Indiana gets their man & Utah cashes out on Rudy (him & Donovan still have beef...right?) for a solid young center + picks (& Lamb).

We really want Harden ? .... if that's happening we really better hope we can re-sign Hayward and ship out Brown with Kemba instead.... because there is no way Jaylen, Tatum and Harden fit together...

Disagree. Brown is perfect 3rd cog. Doesn't need ball to make plays. He makes plays off cuts, defensive/transition plays and 3s on catch and shoot. He can do some things late clock. But his game is not built on needing the ball.

Brown is the perfect third banana. Kemba is redundant.

I have confidence that Brown would do what is necessary to develop his game -- defense, passing, leadership, cheerleader -- while understanding that he would be third banana to Tatum and Harden. Could still be the third All-Star if the team is successful.

If the team could add Harden and keep Tatum, Brown and Smart, that's the NBA coup of the 21st C despite whatever else is lost. Just need some journeyman bigs and shooters to that core and the Celtics are a perennial contender.

But... not kidding myself here, Rockets aren't moving Harden for a package without one of those guys.

Far fetched but here me out... if we send Brown to Houston, Kemba to a 3rd team and get back Harden we would have enough cap space in 2021 to go after Giannis. It requires not extending Tatum until next year but you would have a Harden Tatum Giannis big 3.

Most people expect Giannis to sign the supermax at this point.

An underrated part of trading for Harden is that even if he leaves in 2022, that leaves us a ton of cap space to sign Bradley Beal.

You can get a Marcus Smart type bench player in other ways. You don’t give up a top 3 pick for hustle defenders off the bench.

It can be a little more nuanced than that. Lets say Ainge can get from 14 to 8. In this draft that is much more likely than usual because teams draft boards are so radically different. Smart and 8 can get you to 3 maybe using 26 and 30 along the way. NOT saying I want to do this just saying it can get done when you have 3 first round draft picks and probably willing to kick in a future one at this point.

I think as fans, we are wayyyyy above our heads in terms of Smarts value. Smart, to me, Is in the category of Bledsoe and Beverly. But maybe that’s just me. Lol. I see no way Warriors even entertain such an idea.

Smart is more superstar than role player
He is neither but after this years PO run the Nba community sees him differently ...
He is a one of a kind and showed that he shines brightest when matters most !

his value is ALL TIME HIGH
I believe there are several teams that would rather have him than #2-3
