I think Dinwiddie or Oladipo would be better acquisitions than LaVine, in spite of him being a more seamless fit.

Re: Fixing the Mess Pt. 2 Sixers Offseason
he is clearly better than prime Iggy and this is a bad take. The only argument against Simmons is he does not provide adequate value in half court settings in critical games when we need a better three-level scoring ballhandler next to Embiid.76ciology wrote:HardenToSixers wrote:76ciology wrote:

One day I have to know what’s so special about Ben that we chose him or are choosing him over Kawhi, Jimmy and Harden.
Right now this is like Iggy at his 20-5-5 peak and not wanting to trade him for Tracy McGrady.
Does Ben have Josh Harris’ laptop?

What would you guys consider to be a "reasonable price" for Lavine? Other than Ben & Jo, I'm not really attached to anyone on the roster.
Josh is gone after this season anyway.
Horford - we'd be glad to get rid of
Harris - same as Horford due to his crazy contract
Shake is okay but not a difference maker
Mattise - a guy I'd like to see them keep but I don't see future all-star in him.

Don't you put that evil on us.
all these ominous tweets are going to be maddening for the next 8 hours.

Hmm..
So wendell carter and bulls pick (6th) to warriors.
Bulls then get Al? They need an elite rim protector with elite 3pt shooting which Al can provide (guys were on the same side here so just go along)
Then Al gets us Lavine. Then we trade Lavine for Harden

If there's one thing I know, there's no better friendship than Westbrook and Joel Embiid.

First highlight, absolutely brutal back cut on Lavine by sexton game on the line under 30 seconds in the 4th.
This is him playing when it matters most and how bad he is. Can you imagine him on the floor against jimmy butler, Kyle Lowry when the season is on the line in the playoffs?

Beal (w/o giving up Ben or Jo) would be amazing.

Lavine is an atrocious fit, especially if we keep Harris. Also i dont see what we have that would tempt the Bulls to trade him.
Beal would require Simmons.

The scary thing about Beal and Lavine is both guys have inflated value with how they pretty much stat pad their season average that I dont think they’ll be that good with our team.

And impossible. Please show your work. What specifically do you think Washington is taking for Beal that’s not Ben or Joel that won’t easily be beat by Boston, denver, Atlanta, the nets.

Re: Fixing the Mess Pt. 2 Sixers Offseason
Do you guys realize that if we can get Beal or Lavine, we can just attach a handful of picks and turn it into Harden?
Morey can work his magic. Make the protection so complicated that no GM can figure out that basically he’s not giving up any picks at all.

Age and the fact that there is more to the game than just scoring.
Context matters as well. Kawhii was coming off a season in which he either suffered from a chronic injury or was just mailing it in so he could get to LA (which he ended up doing...after winning a damn championship). It worked out for Toronto big time but they only gave up a guy they probably were done with anyway.
Jimmy was great and we should have kept him but despite the meme that it was him or Ben...I think it was moreso Him or Brett/the FO. I mean we basically took Ben off ball for Shake **** Milton... and even if so the real issue wasn't simply keeping Jimmy it was not replacing him.
And as for Harden; it seems like he doesn't really want to be here and would rather go with dudes he's cool with.
I would choose all 3 of the dudes over Ben in a vaccume and with guarantees that they'd stay and we would be able to build around them. Hell i'd do that without some of that lol...HOWEVER context matters and there is some very real downsides to it that I think people often overlook due to their already made up opinions on Ben and his value. this idea that one should just throw all caution to the wind and get the better players no matter what is how teams often put themselves in a corner. I mean we are currently stuck hoping teams want our trash to get slight upgrades like Buddy Hield ffs thanks to that type of thinking. Its that type of thinking that lead to the Westbrook trade because Bigger Name = Better team amirite.
Again Ben annoys the **** out of me because I don't understand why its so hard to just **** shoot the damn ball. HOWEVER, DESPITE all of that I don't think it is as easy as just give up on him and trade him for whatever in hopes of winning it all right away. I don't think simply trading him for Harden makes us that much closer to a championship in 2021. It makes us better no doubt but the window is much smaller than people act it is and Harden already having eyes for other places, being in his 30s, not exactly being a playoff god and again I am not even sure Embiid likes the guy lol...all makes me weary. Again I think the best move LONGTERM is fixing this mess and seeing what a new voice does with the two dudes and come what may with that as we build up our assets again. If that ends in a flameout again then so be it.
but thats just me and let it be known if we trade for Harden or who ever and Ben is the cost...thats fine too.

Well judging by all the people who had some pipe dream thinking the Sixers could possibly obtain Harden without trading Ben, it would be MORE likely to do the same thing with Beal. Not saying I know what the heck the move would be but who knows. Maybe Morey does have something up his sleeve. Only time will tell.
