Proves we will never be considered an serious franchise under this current leadership.
You absolutely do not low ball your franchise GOAT.
No serious FA will ever sign here willingly.
Our stigma is that we are financially inept, unappreciative, and not committed to winning.

Re: Not Revisionist History: Post Kemba/Rozier trade thoughts
On paper the Rozier signing looks bleak. But I'd rather have him than Elfrid Payton I think. I'm just going to be optimistic and hope for the best.
On Kemba I wanted the team to trade him for something, anything, and try to retool somehow. They didn't do it b/c it would've been a bad PR move to trade the fan favorite/best player in franchise history. I get that. But now they're getting raked over the coals for letting him walk for nothing anyway. This was a disaster. But honestly I'm not sure if it could be avoided. The NBA landscape is changing so much so fast that standing pat might have been a shrewd move.

Re: Not Revisionist History: Post Kemba/Rozier trade thoughts
Kemba made the wrong choice, but should we really be surprised by that? He was awful in the clutch last season hitting 80.6% from the line and 32.8% 3 point percentage. Compare that with his season average at 84.4% from the line and 35% 3 point percentage(lowest of the last 4 years). He could've continued something here, but just took the easy way out.

On Terry Rozier
I'm fine with the pivot to signing him after Kemba left. Elf has been run off two bad teams. Rubio was too expensive. Lin was way worse than I thought. The team is making a bet that Terry will be a real NBA starter. It will be interesting to see if it works out or not.

My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Should have done this earlier, but no way am I going through hundreds of posts about previous drafts.
So post here to go on the record about our drafts, signings and trades and I will update this first post with results.
I'm late to the party, but here is who I would have drafted.
12: Sekou Doumbouya. I was okay with PJ Washington though.
36: Bol Bol. The risk/reward at 36 for an unusual talent like Bol seems like a no-brainer to me. I got angry that we didn't take the chance on him.
55: Kyle Guy. He is a long shot to pan out, but the kid can shoot and is likable. Not a fan of picking McDaniels because of the off-court issues.

Updated the first post up to this point, try to keep your specific responses on draft choices/deals/signings to twitter length please, short and to the point (I hated it: I would have done this)
I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

Re: Not Revisionist History: Post Kemba/Rozier trade thoughts
PJ Washington was my pick. So was Bridges. I was obsessed with tape on both and scouting reports. The negatives seemed lazy and trivial. Both have all-round games and play both ends. Both play with a mean streak and I'm tired of a team of pussies.
Rozier is far from Kemba but he's every bit as tough, maybe a little more mean, can finish above the rim and guard shooting guards, something Kemba never could do and the main reason why Monk played limited minutes with Kemba.
I still consider Monk our best prospect and I love Rozier's fit all around. I'm gonna trust the process as long as Mitch keeps prospects and picks. Mitch can do damage from anywhere in the draft order. Hell, he can cause pain in the second round. I don't need to see a laughingstock bottom feeder.

Re: Not Revisionist History: Post Kemba/Rozier trade thoughts
Early receipts on Mitch Kupchak, real GM:
Rozier
Miles
Graham
PJ
Looks to me like 3 starters in 2 drafts plus Rozier. Terry had his breakout game. He looks more and more comfortable. I love how he and DevontƩ drove to the rim in closing. And I love that JB has both closing games.

Re: Not Revisionist History: Post Kemba/Rozier trade thoughts
I'm more of an eye-test guy. Dude looks the part or he doesn't. Here's my 2019 draft:
#12 Tyler Herro; Alpha mentality, shooter
#36 Terance Mann; big lead guard who defends
#52 Tacko Fall; just big, man. That, and I like tacos
Hey, they're all T's! Whatever.
I actually thought the Hornets should pursue Rozier (and said so on this board), understanding Kemba was going to sign in Boston and Rozier would have been released. Kemba was gone the moment he made all-NBA. So, the sign-and-trade was a good move, in my opinion.
No free agency? I hated, hated, hated to watch the Hornets take a pass on the whole dadgum thing. Hated it. But I sipped some good Kentucky Bourbon and got over it. Smart moves, too, at the bottom of the roster. Could be an interesting franchise to follow these next couple of years.

Re: Not Revisionist History: Post 2020 Draft thoughts
Here's my pre-draft thoughts:
If we stay at #3 my order of preference is (in order):
1 = Wiseman
2 = Edwards
3 = Haliburton
4 = Ball
5 = Okongwu
The only way I'd want to trade up would be if we added a minimal asset (eg: #32) but under no circumstances at all would I add a future 1st - regardless of the protection.
I'd also be willing to take on salary to move up with an additional asset coming back (eg: #2, Wiggins and a top #10 protected 1st for #3 and Zeller)
The only way I'd want to trade down would be if we still get a pick in the 4 - 8 range this year and also an additional 1st round pick in 2021 or 2022.
Guys I really want to avoid (in no particular order):
Williams
Avdija
Anthony
McDaniels
Pokusevski
Maxey

Tier 1 (guy I'm thrilled with at #1): Wiseman
Tier 2 (guy I'm interested in moving up for): nobody
Tier 3 (fine with at 3, not thrilled, but it's fine): Okongwu, Edwards
Tier 3.5 (in between): Haliburton
Tier 4 (trade down options): Hayes, Vassell, Nesmith, Maxey, Williams
Tier 5 (not really interested but wouldn't mind if we traded down towards pick #10): Deni, Toppin, Okoro
Tier 6 (not interested unless we've acquired another pick outside the lottery): Ball and everyone else

Pick 3: Happy with whoever falls out of Ball, Edwards and Wiseman- in that order I guess, but Edwards has me all over the map.
Rooting for us not to trade up (see no point in losing assets at this point in rebuild)
Guys I like and will root for: Deni, Okongwu, Vassell, Maxey, Okoro, Bey
Guys I don't think will be great for where they are taken: Haliburton, Hayes, Williams, Toppin
