https://cavaliersnation.com/2020/11/18/report-cavs-could-be-landing-spot-for-celtics-forward-gordon-hayward/

Gordon Hayward Celtics

"In the hours leading up to Wednesday night’s NBA draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly are interested in Boston Celtics veteran Gordon Hayward.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst noted in his “Hoop Collective” podcast that a potential deal could also involve Cavs center Andre Drummond, in addition to draft picks. The Cavaliers hold the fifth overall pick in the draft, while the Celtics have three first-round selections, though none higher than the 14th pick."

If Hayward is opting in could be Hayward and 14 for Drummond and 5

I think his feelings for hurt when his schitck started driving the mods to lock some of his threads.

He's a poster I don't understand one bit.

Is CLE gonna pay him $45M a year? Why would Gordo be interested in CLE? This one absolutely makes zero sense IMO

Their need isn't about the team they put on the floor. Their need is to squeeze everything out of everybody including getting something for Gallo in a sign and trade if possible.

I've posted this multiple times in this thread already, but their beat reporter already says that report is not accurate:

I get that for sure. I'm just saying that if they can figure out a way to maintain bird rights with Gallo, then it still has the ability to benefit them. It has nothing to do with him playing for the Thunder this year. There are a lot of teams (more than Dallas) that would love to have Gallo that don't have the ability to sign him outright. If he walks, he walks, but they would prefer to squeeze something out of him, and that has been the plan since the trade deadline.

I can't see Gordon wanting any part of that unless they wanted to severely overpay him.

IIRC, you were a lawyer, no? Can Hayward opt in on the condition that he won't be traded to certain teams? (i.e., signing a separate document as an addendum to his contract)

I would really like it, but that is very optimistic. Why would the Cavs do it given that they are rebuilding and both deals are expiring?

I listened to that podcast......... it sounded pretty dumb when he said it and Lowe didn't seem very convinced.
