Anyone got some more scoop on him? Did he get any minutes for the Kings at all last year in any meaningful time?

Nowhere in that Shams tweet does he say we have the 42nd pick. I'm assuming we don't have the pick. Nehm is the only one who reported it and has been silent all day.

We could be sitting here right now with Jrue Holiday in Boston after Ainge out GM'd Horst and they have few options to make any real upgrades and Giannis is unsold and decides not to sign the extension this week.
If those two deals did not go down, Giannis could be making a trade demand and our franchise relevancy is over for the rest of most of our lives.

What we don’t know is whether Giannis insisted Jrue was THE guy he had to have, and have him now, or not. Given that we were linked 24 hours earlier to Schroder, might indicate we didn’t need to specially acquire Jrue.
To that point, making the Bogdan trade and holding onto Hill and Bledsoe might have been a smarter move. Then see just exactly what three firsts, two unprotected, and two pick swaps gets you either later this week or at the deadline. None of us armchair GM’s ever really spent time out here contemplating trades where we’d give up SO much in the way of future assets. We could have thought up some great stuff with all those picks to work with.
BTW, lets see what NOP might get for either Hill or Bledsoe in moving them to a third team before this deal is reported officially. I still think those two guys have real value.

I am excited about this team and I think we are the favorites to win it all... but I am not over the moon like you say because I never thought Giannis was going to leave.... especially given how much success we have had the last two years.

Let's put it in a bit of a broader frame. Giannis signing doesn't justify the trades. Winning championships justifies the trades. We were already right there so we're not in a position where anything less is tolerable at this point.

Nehm reported 42 was purchased - as was followed up by Shams. Only one saying its not the case is Bobby Marks (who i never heard of before today)
Where did Shams report that? I don't see it anywhere. 3 second round picks will be fun tonight if true.
yeah i messed up and saw a different tweet, so Nehm has reported it on The Athletic and on the radio today. No confirmation, we just have to wait.

I think a broader frame is that the giannis signing puts us in contention for a longer period of time than without him. That could very well change if he does not figure some things out. The franchise would have been crucified if they did not find a way to retain him, but now they're being crucified with contempt prior to investigation.

I don't think I can view it in that manner. Trades don't guarantee titles - they just increase or decrease your odds of winning one. The Bucks could make every right move in the book, and still fall short of a title due to factors outside of their control. That doesn't mean the trades weren't justified to begin with.
The chances of winning a title decrease precipitously without Giannis re-signing - down to nearly zero. If these trades convinced Giannis to re-sign and he would not have otherwise, then they increased our chances of winning a title over the next five years just by virtue of getting Giannis to sign on the dotted line. That, in its own right, is enough to justify them.
Then the only question that remains is whether these trades will increase our chances of winning a title assuming Giannis was going to re-sign either way. I think they will, at least in the near future. But I'm open to disagreement on that front.

I'm going to assume that Giannis will sign the 5-year Supermax and the last year will be a player option. So that means we'd have his control for five years. That's the key. And if things don't work after 2-3 years, we can trade him for a nice return. But the challenge will be that during that rebuild time (2023-2026) we will be pick deficient and at the mercy of New Orleans.

Depends on what you define as success. #1 record back to back years is great and all but Giannis said he wants to win championships. This years 2nd round exit probably didnt sit the best with him (regardless of how Giannis own issues impacted that) I think he planned on re-signing but if we didnt make any big moves this year it could have pushed him to make a different decision

Wait, this is actually a shared belief by more than one person? That Philly and Boston weren't actually interested in trading for Jrue Holiday to improve their own teams, only to drive up the price for the Bucks?
Where did you see that?
CHL alluded to it a few pages back. And your "smart of them" comment makes it seem like the goal all along was for BOS/PHI to intentionally miss out on Jrue but drive up the price for the Bucks. Not exactly sure how that would work. More likely both Boston and Philly wanted Jrue for their own rosters and were outbid.
Saying that the Celtics and Sixers played the Bucks does NOT mean I think they didn't want Jrue. I'm sure they made solid offers right from the jump. They played the Bucks by dropping out of the bidding and having discipline. What's smart is not that they drove up the price per se, but that they dropped out when they realized it was an irresponsible bidding war. By the way the Celtics 3-pick package in this draft is a turd sandwich compared to the risk/reward ratio in the picks they got from the Bucks.

Acquire both Holiday brothers to team up with Lopez brothers, give every remaining bench spot to the Antetokounmpo brothers.

RoLo opted out of a very good salary that he's unlikely to be able to recover. Not sure there's much chance of him being back.
Also, what do you have against Bojan Bogdanovic?
